I saw a vid of one of Plague’s gatherings. Looked like nice, wholesome, VF fun.
Yea the differences between 5 and 5R are bigger than 4 and 4Evo. It like, really fucking matters if you as a true VF player experience this game or not. But you won’t. So sit down and STFU.
Sega would piss on all your graves then take a dump on the headstone. Just so you know.
The biggest hotspots are NYC and SoCal, it’s simple really I know all of you guys in this thread have traveled to some gathering or tournament before in a fighting game. If you really like VF and you really play VF, going to one of these hotspots shouldn’t be a problem, especially if you’ve traveled before. All the VFDC’ers will easily accommodate you, and welcome all new players.
There’s still people playing at ALL skill levels, on and offline. The thing about VF is that the game is at it’s absolute best, when you play others in and around your skill level. A new player or a low skilled player trying to play a veteran, becomes some weird game that doesn’t make any sense. It’s a dance, you got someone stepping on your shoes you both look odd and it’s awkward. Both the new player and the vet won’t really want to play each other(for different reasons entirely). You play people around your level, and as you get better, you find and play stronger and stronger opponents, and then the game becomes crack… and then you’ll really want to atleast travel to play.
You check VFDC, the main people you should contact would be Konjou, AdamYUKI, and Shag(who’s actually posted in this thread).
Going to be a small get together(not a tournament) in about a week and a half, with some players going through from VA, MD(myself), RI, and PA.
Contrary to what srk believes, VF does actually get some play. So to anyone that can’t find people to play the game with, you’re currently on the wrong site, that’s why.
I agree on not getting hopes up, I’m not particularly expecting another VF, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if they DO have another incarnation of VF5 and they want to wait until that before they consider home ports.
It’s probably not the most likely scenario, but I wouldn’t rule it out entirely.
I bought my PS3 for VF5, bought them at the same time. Played the hell out of it, bought VF5 for 360 when it came out. Played the hell out of that, lots of online too. And I really want to play VF5R.
So, fuck Sega. Sega is dead to me until I get a console port of VF5R B.
It’s no lie. Well, VF5 did have an assist from T5DR. I didn’t regret paying $600 for my PS3 when I was playing both nonstop. 360 wasn’t scratching that fighter itch at that point in time.
I played so much 360 VF5 on that damn 360 pad though. I waited too long to get a 360 stick.
Burning Hammer is insanely damaging, looks to be the most damaging move in the game. I love Wolf, he looks like he has some great new throws and combos in 5R.
Has there been any news since the Japanese Virtua Fighter 5 page mentioned something about a special 3 year anniversary surprise? It’s been 2 weeks… :bluu:
Wolf is nasty in 5R version B. I believe he’s rated the highest character in terms of overall damage output potential.
And no the announcement regarding the 3rd Anniversary of VF5 (in Japanese arcades) hasn’t been made yet. The second it is look for the information in this thread or at VFDC though the odds of it being a console release are almost infinitely low. :lame:
The differences between version A and version B are immense. A significant amount of moves have been entirely reanimated. Many moves have been rebalanced, so much that the tiers only range from S to B, so the game is looking nearly balanced. The camera angle of the fights is now much closer and zoomed in. And then there are some other minor changes as well.
