The Virtua Fighter 5:R thread... It's in Japanese arcades!

VF4 Revival.

Make it happen.

It doesn’t work so well in the 3D world, my friend.

Daaaaaang. Looks good. For the PS3, I would be delighted if they did a VF4: Evolution with this: make the Greatest Hits version for PS3 VF5:R.

Guaranteed buy if they did.

CO has a pretty solid VF scene. When VF5 was in it’s “prime” we had a crazy number of peeps playing it.

You also have VF scenes in Boston, Chicago, Dallas, D.C./NOVA, Miami, Portland, St. Louis and Seattle in the US. International scenes include London and Amsterdam with scattered players in France, Finland, Germany, Norway and Sweden.

How’d you manage to convince people to play VF?

It just kind of happened, I guess. Peeps were already pretty hyped for the game, and then FallingEdge and I got together and I started having weekly gatherings at my place. Shit just took off somehow.

and they’re all dying cause SEGA is fucking gay.

Yeah it’s looking like the end, I’m going to ask some of the other guys this weekend what their thoughts are.

I haven’t hear much about it myself. you got so many fighters coming out this year its not even funny. SF IV came out in February, Blazblue in June, KOF XII in July, and Tekken 6 in October. I think in the console market VF 5:R in the us will be overshadowed as usual

The Dallas scene is located more in Ft. Worth actually -.-

Whatever you discuss, bring up VF4 for great justice. kthx.

my final taka combo vid (VF5R)

Will be working on an Aoi combo vid next

I wasn’t a big fan of the music selection this time around but regardless that was a very sexy combo video dude, big props.

It’s sad to think that with all these new fighters, that we’re going to lose the scene for one of the funnest franchises ever. (well the scene will be gone outside of Japan)

Those are some very impressive combos in that video!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone combo out of a Low Rising Attack!

Thread needs moar of this.

One of my last hopes is at TGS this year.
The only 3 Sega of Japan influenced games that I think will be there is: Super Monkey Ball Wii, Resonance of Fate, and Sonic and Mario at the Winter Games other than that I can’t think of any other games to be announced. Unless if someone knows more than me.
VF5R would deffinately help out there lineup at TGS!!!

Actually, out of that list Resonance of Fate is just published by SEGA, it’s developed by Tri-Ace (I’m pretty sure at least).

Don’t forget though that Yakuza 4 was announced just recently so that will be there, which is Sega Japan through and through. Valkyria Chronicles 2 and Phantasy Star Portable 2 will likely also make an appearance.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see another game or two announced before TGS and then showcased there as well, I think something similar happened last year with stuff like 7th Dragon and Yakuza 3.

In any event, I have my fingers crossed for VF5R news at TGS, but I think it’s more likely it will be the next VF incarnation that gets a port.

When is TGS this year?

Yeah, I think…HOPE that VF5R ver C or VF6 if it comes down to that will get a console port…at some point.

September 24th to the 27th.

If VF5R is announced for consoles I’ll cut my own head off. :wasted:
