The Virtua Fighter 5:R thread... It's in Japanese arcades!

Black Cat Moon: top 5 best tracks in VF2. You need to do more of your vids lke that next one you do you should put Chicago or Ride the Tiger.

Man go have yoself some waffles bruh you deserve it.

Man, the stages in this game are great. I keep on seeing stages I like.

Here’s Ride The Tiger  It’s from a week or so ago

I don’t have my X360 with me at the moment…can I learn how to play VF from VF4:EVO?

Like is the transition from VF4 to 5 super crazy, or can I still hang when I do buy VF5 later on?

Thanks for the response.

Virtua Fighter is Virtua Fighter for the most part. The transition isn’t big enough that it feels like a whole new game. Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution is a great way to learn the basics of high-level Virtua Fighter 5. Some might argue that it’s actually better for learning high-level Virtua Fighter 5 than Virtua Fighter 5 itself because of the godlike training mode.

Man it sucks that most people I know don’t play vf or want to get into it. Sucks even more that we wont get vf5 r. I have vf5 for the ps3 when it first came out and played the hell out of it. But since I only have 1 friend who loves vf like I do its kind of hard to get into. Especially when theres not really an arcade that has it near us…Oh well vf is still one of my fav fighting series of all time.

Thanks, I was just over at VFDC forums and some of the people were talking about how each Virtua Fighter was like a universe different or something. :wonder:

Well if you’ve been playing them a ton, there’s a lot of nuanced differences that makes it seem completely different at a competitive level, it’s the same way for any FG series. However, if you’re just getting started, the basic mechanics should be plenty similar enough for you to apply one to the other.

for each one up to vf4 to vf5, it was. and even vf4 is very different than vf5 mid and hilevel

I was saying Reno was GDLK because he’s actually playing the game while we’re just here salivating over it. He’s still damn good though. Not sleeping on the “few” competent Americans but they’ll prob never touch 5R ever.

SoloFenris
Haha, I doubt many japs still play DRO and good luck with the connections lol. Never really played any of the NGs. Want to, but no time for anything except dabble in fighters before tourneys. Sigma 2 has co-op? Sweet.

OG Sega Sound Team was godlike. Black Cat Moon, Ride The Tiger, Chicago, and Fisherman from 7 Seas were my shit. I think Shun Di’s theme is probably my fav of all.

Yup. Even without discussing the gameplay (much), the VF series was seriously revolutionary.

VF1 = First 3D fighter (graphics). But it still played mostly in 2D.
VF2 = First true 3D (Shun, Lion?), and texture mapped poly’s.
VF3 = First 3D fighter to introduce “environments” (walls, different floor heights, etc.), and a full evade system (evade button).
VF4 was VF3 refined. No more different level floor heights.
VF5 was VF4 refined.
VF5R is VF5 with dash of Tekken.

Black Cat Moon is the best theme in VF.

Period.

Taka-arashi combo vid that I made last night. My first time playing with Sony Vegas so hopefully I get some good constructive criticism on this on what to improve. I know my timing has to be worked on for sure though.

Wow. That’s the FIRST VF combo video I have ever seen. Pretty good.

Nah man, just say you’re going to play Tekken 6 for example. Several members will make comments putting you down, saying that you are “downgrading” because VF is much more “complex” and “technical” etc etc… Though the level of acceptance has increased, there is still a lot of hate all around. ^^’

No that would be Chicago “Arranged” version.

Most of the people going around blindly saying comments like that don’t even know what makes the game the way it is anyway, and can’t even play it, or never played anyone that’s considered decent offline even once.

Good combos and nice choice of music as well.

Keep the sumo hype alive, my good man!

Nice man.
