The Ultra Inevitable Street Fighter V Story Thread

Kens wheel kick aka the Moratta Kick from cvs2

Prefered G as someone that is part of the more earlier batch of candidates before Gill and Urien were born but he was exiled from the secret society for a different ideals so everything that is written and known about him were erase in the history of the secret society as a punishment. They can even make him also had no memories of his past.

So his existence is unbeknownst to the likes of Urien and Gill than someone of a minion of them. Making him something special, his a likable character so it’s a fucking waste to dispose him.

Relation to Q quite better be him not being Q.

I don’t mind Seth clones always being the available temporary vessel for Bison or something that is more reliable tool for him as his puppet rather a body as a choice than the dolls and etc that rebels the most.

I just hoping that we Seth having a Cyborg Monitor alternate costume easter egg similar to the movie not the CFN. But I know it’s unlikely due to the fact of licensing issue and rights

Seth would need to be drastically changed, almost as a new character. Public isnt going to be content with reused assets a 3rd time. Unless your Poongko of course.

Tbh as far as im concerned Seths story is over. Wasnt a particularly interesting character but was memorable for all the wrong reasons. I mean really, I know SF moves are over the top but… A dude that sucks you into a black hole in his stomach? Wtf

Seth’s first Ultra was like breaking the 4th wall. It was just so stupid and out of place. Hate it.

Funnily enough Gills sepharic wing is a good example of a super over the top move that works with the general “vibe” of SF. He might pretend to be devine but the dude is a wrestler/aincent greek fighter first and foremost. His fighting style is somewhat grounded in a real martial art.

I know alot of people prefer their characters like this. Same reason im not really a big fan of Rose or Menat, theyre just not based on a “real” martial art and more in the realms of fantasy. I give them a pass as the gameplay is fun which is just as important. Gill looks like he will be fun.

Seth was neither fun to play with or against AND he looked like a dick. In this sense even Hakan is more interesting would be much welcomed.

Yeah, I just like him as a character for a Mokujin equivalent and a Bison army. Regarding the Ultra yes if he will re appear I hope he’ll have a new one and better.

Well they don’t live in Ancient Greece.

Put on a Pankration outfit, ya bums.

Interessing article on Gill’'s Fire/Ice Powers and specific effects

The whole Illuminati imagery involve fuckton of ancient looking clothes, buildings etc
It’s (not casually) like greek area controlled by Pope Arles in Saint Seiya, keeping old customs

Gill himself since sf3 intros goes around in ancient looking clothes even when his secretary wear modern porn secretary suit… really no problem there

And overall SF design ever been about not “normal” and often anachronistic anime designs… If anything anytime i see a char wearing plain urban simple clothes (like Kiki “story” ones) i feel they’re betraying SF classic character design way

Never! Flaunt your thongs!

Really happy with Gill and him being in the game. In terms of story it makes total sense to build more towards SF3 so this was a good call. I really hope we keep getting more SF3 characters in the game but as we near SF6 I’d also rather they saved them for that game. God help me if SF6 is finally set after 3 and we get no SF3 characters in the base roster like we did for 4 and 5.

In terms of Seth I really don’t see him being anything important especially compared to Gill. I mean, Gill’s on the CE box and Seth won’t be which says it all really. I expect Seth to be a quick one and done deal like Kage where he turns up, threatens to continue SIN but gets beaten and destroyed for good, essentially making his return pointless and changing nothing. As a character I’d much rather we get Abel instead and he has a Seth costume.

I love having alternate costumes that show how these people would normally dress in day to day life… but I agree with this statement. The more modern and “urban”, for lack of a better word, the bigger the deviation. A character’s design is like their uniform. It shows their respect for the martial art, who they are and what they are all about… everybody wears t-shirts and jeans, but only Ryu can rock his kickass headband for example (tho I still want SF II-V in the game dammit!)

Gill’s original stage in New Generation was in the Mediterranean. One of the most underrated stages in the SF3 series imo

I honestly can’t tell what the hell happened between Second Impact and Third Strike. Everything else got improved… but the stages man… the NG/SI ones are beautiful while the latter ones pale in comparasion. They should have just kept all of them lol

Edit: You know… speaking of… what the hell happened between Alpha 2 and Alpha 3 too, for that matter. Same shit lol Is the third game always doomed to have less cool stages?

This is really a sore spot for me. I loved that the base game and other things got so great, but dang, while some of the stages are good, WOW there was a change. Look at Ken’s NG and 2I vs 3S…sharing a simple subway with Alex? Not a bad stage, but a step down. Alex’s loss the charm. (I REALLY wanted Q to have a stage too…)

Some like Akuma’s, Yun/ Yang’s, Ryu’s are good, but yeah, overall, there should have been more of the past stages bundled with the new ones.

I don’t have the source other than DevilJin but it has been mentioned about 3S that arcade memory issues were the problem. With bigger cast and stuff, they had to simplify the stages to make room, dunno if that was also the case with the OST.

At least that can be averted today.

I don’t think the music themes improved either.

I know the 3S themes are considering the “main” themes for the SF3 characters now, because 3S is the only version that had longevity, but too much of 3S’s music doesn’t sound like traditional SF themes with memorable melodies to them.

Alpha3 did not have traditional SF melodies, but my god that soundtrack is brilliant and way ahead of its time.

Alpha 3 got one of the best anouncers along with CVS2. 3S wasn’t my tune too, (just personal preference) I prefered SI and NG.

Agree, it’s likely they were experimenting those times along with trying to blend with what they assume current trends of late 90s culture so we got also weird tunes in CVS1 and MVC2.

Yet thing turned out better in CVS2

Any thoughts on the next and final character?
