The Ultra Inevitable Street Fighter V Story Thread

Nah no need to name it a spin off or sequel of DS.

It should be just something broad like…

A new Capcom Brand that is more of naming it with supernatural combined.

Like How capcom did to Canon Spike they didn’t call it The Wanderers 2, Megaman Shooter or something with guest characters.

THEY DID a new brand to broaden it’s possibilities but it had still kept a common theme that are military, tech and shooters with popular Capcom characters.

Why? Because it felt restrictive to the environment and posibilities of enemy encounters.

Comic book did also seperate those brands in a more theme relevant, like DC is to Justice League Dark and Marvel is to Midnight Sons.

Im talking about how to handle branding properly here.

Something Like Capcom Mystic World, Capcom Bizzarre or something.

SNK did Gals Fighter and etc right.

If it would be tech and mecha it would be like Capcom Future Arena, Cyber Tournament or etc rather than forcing a singular brand.

But it can work with an SF parallel title in an alternate dimensions but still restrictive with few futuristic characters from other franchise.

Isn’t Strider really fucking obscure outside of arcade-era Capcom fans and maybe Japan? Especially given Capcom doesn’t really own the rights to the character, I don’t see them making some big push for next gen consoles (let’s be real, this game isn’t for PS4) off resurrecting something that had a new game 5 years ago.

On fighting games, Darkstalkers and Rival Schools have the strongest chances based off internal pressures from Ono and the like. I’ve also heard mention of Kamiya (Platinum Games/Clover Studios) having something to do with Capcom for an upcoming project and killer7 having an updated version using its massive library of unused content in the works. Can’t really speak on other franchises, but nothing that was active last gen could really be called “dormant” given how many franchises died during or before the PS2 era.

A lot of the old Capcom ips don’t need to be big budget games. 2014 Strider game is a good metroidvania and they wouldn’t need to break bank to make those.

The manga company that co-owns Strider doesn’t do anything with him. They are not going to veto Capcom simply because they’ll get a piece of the pie of any new Strider media. They’ll sit back and collect money.

Strider is super popular among Marvel vs fans. We got Strider 2 based off the popularity he gained from Marvel vs Capcom.

I think a brand that a Capcom game but they hadn’t had some kind of control is Slammaster. Too bad.

Good thing Marvel now own fox so we can expect some Alien Vs Predator characters.

Capcom only shares right for Strider Hiryu. There are a bunch of other Striders we could get games of. This would be even more bad ass since we already know Zeku is the head of the organization in the early days. The Strider we know and love comes basically at the end of the storyline IIRC.

It’s kind of incredible and bizarre that Final Fight, Rival Schools and now Strider are all canon to Street Fighter

Atleast Strider is in a far future so it’s fine.

How about this one.

Ì would be fined if this is on another Millenia

I remember reading a fan theory on some website that can’t even host its images properly that claims that deep breath Asura’s Wrath, Captain Commando, Battle Circuit, Armoured Warriors, Cyberbots and Star Gladiator breaths out are in the same universe and that Jin+Hayato are descendants of Ryu.

The only meh thing their is making both protoganist characters as decendant of Ryu.

Asura’s Wrath is definitely alternate dimension

Everything else is ???

Also Slammaster and possibly SFEX cast or at least some of them (Darun Is the guy that keept Gief’s piece in ASF)

Momotaru almost playable i guess include Pirate Ship Higemaru, with MvC Ruby Heart being included in that universe

It’s definitely him
Also bonus stage seem to happen inside Abigail’s officine, who keept links with former MGG members

I think it’s really stupid that they made Strider canon to SF.

Slam Masters is. I don’t care what Darun’s profile says, EX isn’t. Those characters don’t even belong to Capcom…FEXL is it’s own thing now.

Capcom doesn’t have the rights over Slam Master characters. That’s why they’ve never appeared again, not even in the Clash Card games or background cameos. Should be pretty obvious at this point.

Yeah even the CFN profile they never mentioned again. Compared to the SFex characters that probably a shared rights or somekind of agreement.

Don’t forget Captain Commando. It took place in a future Metro City and Ninja Commando is a successor of the Bushin style.

Sorry brah meant Player 2 from forgotten worlds not 2P from final fight

When you think about the possible shared universe. It’s almost as if the Striders and the organisation that CapCom and the BC guys work for were in response to all those martial artists running around back in SFs time. By collecting all those specialist fighters, they could combat any possible threat. It’s alot to take in as silly as the whole theory, I like to think that they’re just homages kind of like the SF cameos in Megaman X rather than really seriously connected.

No big deal man. I thought I had missed something.
