ROTFL, never noticed it.
Midgard, you are perfect.
Make sense Sagat cleaned the competition in Muay Thai world becoming the “King” before enter in that competition vs other styles… as MT had no longer rivals for him
Ingrid is the most overhyped character in the Capcom Universe.
Free.
Tell me something I don’t know.
If Darkstalkers comes back, I want it to have a time travel plot that establishes that Darkstalkers(modern day), Ghost 'n Goblins(medieval times) and Red Earth(ancient times) are all in the same universe.
Like, because Darkstalkers doesn’t even have 20 characters, the base roster would be every previous Darkstalkers character(except Lillith, who’s merged with Morrigan, but still appears during Morrigan’s Darkness Illusion), 2-4 new characters, and then Arthur and Firebrand who have traveled to the future because of reasons relating to the Time Crest(from Gargoyle’s Quest/Demon’s Crest). Asteroth might be the final boss.
And then in the game’s ending, a time rift ends up getting open to the ancient past, and the DLC characters are all Red Earth characters.
That actually sounds dope.
Going forward, I wonder how Capcom is going to handle their Story/Arcade Modes for their fighting games.
22 divided by 7 gives you an approximation of pi.
I would VERY much love that idea!
We know you want to everything to be Smash so a big no. Especially when there’s still plot elements such as Demitri’s possible death, Morrigan’s new place as head of Makai, the vacant spot for the Dohma house (since Ozom and Jedah are dead). Also Donovan is Dee and Anita is older.
Red Earth actually takes place in an alternative version of the year 1999, in a world where magic flourished over technology. Outside of Japan, they just changed it into ancient times.
Looks you learn something new everyday.
I suppose if every character in Smash was all already part of the same very specific theme of “human hunters vs. legendary monsters”, two of which even revolve around the exact same Makai kingdom setting…
…then yes, it would be Smash…
Yeah. Retcon that. It’s dumb.
Not really, the world in Red Earth is a mix of old age fantasies and steampunk, a unique feel. Not only this but Kenji/Mukuro and Mai Ling don’t really fit the Darkstalkers aesthetic compared to Tessa and Leo. They’re better off in their own sequel/revival game. Ruby Heart and Amingo were originally DS characters so just add them instead if you want an semi-crossover.
Well that is never EVER going to happen. So I guess the real question is whether you ever want to see those characters again or not.
Ruby Heart was, and absolutely, put her in DS4.
Amingo wasn’t. He was designed for another fighting game project that was never released.
I would like to see them again in the future but a DS4 probably isn’t the best place to carry that out.
Didn’t know that about Amingo. That said, could easily see RH replacing the niche Donovan had as the vampire hunter of the cast.
I mean, a Capcom Vs. game is the only other place you’d see them, and even then, it’s only going to be 1, maybe 2 of them.
Why Capcom hasn’t done this yet is beyond me.
It’s beyond everyone.
That’s hardly just his niche. The Darkstalkers roster is split into two general groups. The Darkstalkers, who are the monsters, and the Darkhunters, the characters that hunt monsters, like Donovan, Hsien-Ko, BB Hood, etc.
So you make Ruby, Arthur, Tessa, Leo, Mai Ling and Kenji into Darkhunters and everyone else is Darkstalkers.
I can sort of understand RE characters in DS but if GnG characters need to be in then they need some heavy retoolings if they were to fit in with the rest of the cast. The time travel idea does make sense for Darkstalkers but as of yet there’s a whole slew of unresolved plotlines and cliffhangers that alot of people want to see like the power vacuum going on at Makai or the Dee-Older Anita subplot.
Well, the Demon’s Crest version of Firebrand would fit in well in Darkstalkers. So if you gave Arthur a similar redesign he could as well.
I always especially hated the MvC3/I version of Arthur, because they make him basically a midget. But Arthur is NOT that. He looks short and squat because that’s the art style of GnG. If you compare him to other human characters in those games, he’s the same size as the rest of them. Viewtiful Joe is the same way.
So when you bring either of those characters into a game where the art style isn’t all hyperdeformed like that, those characters should be proportioned like normal people, not proportioned the way they are in their home games.
which is completely fine tho, fuck bloated rosters
