The Ultra Inevitable Street Fighter V Story Thread

On this se agree as general rule, but i think Rufus got too much hate for what It was (a joke char) and ultimately even got some points that made him a decent SF design.

Like the Abdul one was much better, but i take sf4 Rufus over the bald shoto-like design (who became Ken’s alt gi)

On Ed i got mixed feel so much potential, some good things but also so much shit gone wrong

Will forever support that line lol
I literally consider Sakura more a joke than Rufus, and at least the latter have no fanbase pretending he should be took seriously lol

It ever surprized me neither Kiryu or Ryo Hazuki ended up there

Rufus is a failed execution of an attempt to replicate Bob obviously. It failed because the backstory and the antics.

Dan is Dan and Rufus wasn’t a western Dan, Dan is a mockery an almalgam representation of AOF protoganists. Rufus wasn’t like that.

The problem was also the dumb “Ken Masters” plot thing with Rufus, The guy clearly had visual problems or poor learning structure.

Bob had a backstory rationale why his moveset is possible despite having a huge body physique which was contrast to Rufus.

You can’t even trust the wiki because the said masters could have been just people fooling Rufus for money. Rufus is gullible enough.

Sakura is an attempt to also have a Yuri like character in SF but became successful because of people accepting that those things does work and more favorable to the likes of Sakura.

How? Because Sakura had better backstory of growth than Yuri as time past by that Yuri had stay like that.

It would be interesting to see a krav maga practitioner . It’s often lumped with martial arts, but it’s not a martial art.

Complaining about G not repping a martial arts and instead looking like a Street Fighter Abraham Lincoln is kind of hilarious considering Lincoln was the OG Street Fighter president that grew up wrestling and brawling like a bad ass

Also I’m pretty sure Lincoln was able to shoot magma. Like 87% sure.

Because Bob is rad and Rufus sucks.

Rejected (thankfully) Poison character designs.

Wow…those are even worse than Lucia’s.

Damn. Talk about dodging bullets. Every single one of those is garbage, trash, gutter. Fuck them. Wish I’d never seen those. They look like DeviantArt bullshit. Ireedemable abbhorence there. I already liked Poison’s redesign, but in lieu of seeing these, I love it all the more.

C.Viper could have been a Krav maga rep, wasted chance to have her useful to something

If i ever get Tom as new char i will like have him as MMA and KM mix

Or i will be ok with an Israeli soldier doing It, i’m usually against get more soldiers in SF (to fucking spammed) but in KM case Will be the most straight way to rep It… But i don’t see 2019 Capcom making an israeli soldier lol

#2 could have been a decent alt, the rest have no reason to exist

Tbh her Summer one Is just as bad as these though

While at It i wish nostalgia was based on sf3/sf4 look, instead they gone for more boring ff1 sprite replica… They even intentionally dodged that color scheme in all 15 colors lol

Someone at Capcom really got a fetish for chap pants.

Good tastes, but you can’t just shove them on everyone like that.

More than that style wise lot of these sketches seem made for a ASW game rather than SF

Yeah, that’s the weird thing, Lucia and Poison’s rejected designs really don’t feel Street Fighter-like.

I like Poison’s final accepted SFV looks, those I can see being part of her personal wardrobe. The j-pop, cutesey outfits don’t seem like something she’d ever entertain as an outfit.

Poisson’s aesthetic has always been rumble n’ ready brawler girl, with occasional rocker enthusiast (I mean her inspiration comes from the band Poison, so yeah, rock is in her dna), so with tweaking I could see the 2nd one with the red coat. All the other stuff feels too cutesy and immature for her.

If they were doing a redesign for Roxy and she was the “sweet” one while Poison was the bold one, then it’d make some sense, but, this just doesn’t work for me at all.

I think many of those rejected designs are for alt costumes rather than main costumes (those cowboy hats and chaps should be a big hint). These characters were each released with 5 costumes.

The number 2 one is sick. Wouldnt translate well into SF5’s aesthetic though.

Looks hella cool though.

It’s funny how a lot of rejected outfits in SF4 seemed pretty good compared to the featured ones and it appears it tends to be the opposite for SF5 now.

How is it not a martial art? It is system of combat developed for defense.

SFV got a lot of unused cool concepts too
SF4 got a lot of cool alts fitting the characters, will say i will take a lot of SF4 alts instead lot of SFV “Story” ones

I consider 4 and V more or less equal under alts point of view

The first 2 designs are cool, and I could totally see Poison wearing them. In fact, the military one reminds me of one of Poison’s costumes in SFIV… or was it SFxTK

this explains it better
