Obtaining Ryu’s body was basically always the main plan. All those clones and secondary bodies are just temporary measures to preserve himself until Ryu completely awakens/succumbs to Satsui no Hado. Unfortunately Shadaloo’s scientists fucking suck so even all those new bodies and clones weren’t good enough to contain the sheer energy of the Psycho Power, as you can see in Bison’s SFV design with the grey hair. Not even Ed, who’s basically the second best option, would probably be good enough.
So Bison is just basicaly Karen constantly asking for managers.
Double Wack.
Keep complaining, Karen.
When you like to burn the candle from both ends, you’re gonna need a lot of candles to keep up with your appetite, good ones.
When you put most SF subplots side by side, you see that they were all underdeveloped to the point of being stale. That says more about the writers than it does about this specific subplot which is one of the more developed ones.
Look, can you just admit that the only reason you like Bison is because you’re in love with a fictitious character?
The guy is in charge of a criminal organization but he is about as capable of leadership as 3S Sean is of being top tier. Dude talks all the fire of a barber only to end up as one of the dudes who just hangs out at the barbershop.
Why did he kidnap 12 random broads? reasons.
You tell me Bison is gay and just wants a Satsui No Dicking and that would be a more believable plot than all the gibberish you’ve written.
Bison is Triple Wack now.
Aside from being a badass character design, Bison like all great villains appeals to my inner misanthrope and nihilism. I’m attracted to darkness in fiction because it allows me to flirt with evil while still being a good person in real life.
All you’ve said is that Bison is the most high level Booty Bandit in the SF universe.
Pretty much. He rapes people’s minds, forces himself into them until they cannot remember anything else. He’s much more evil than he appears to be on the surface.
Lot of replies lol, i’m travelling France and is’nt going to be easy to keep the discussion pace

see how SF3ers have been keept kinda sideline in SFV, i think next SF will not be straight sequel of SF3 events (a game of 20 years ago) but more likely an “expanded reboot” of it, and likely some sf3 story stuff it’s going to change
-
everybody like Urien more than Gill (me too) but he’s no final boss material.
We already know aside at being liked by fans Gill>Urien in any possible way.
At best after 3s he can be another Seth-Bison fool case, wich will have us another “fake Boss”… pls no.
I like more the idea of Gill completing his true Boss arc, then have Alex evolve TRULY defeat him… because so far all the hero of SF3 did was get a fake win, sf3 story simply is’nt over -
Once we got point above, we hopefully can move to a new arc with a new treat and a new Boss, just as powerful as Gill/Bison, and indipendent from illuminati/Shadaloo gimmick
Got late to the discussion due to internet problems.
Either five minutes after Third Strike or a retelling of SFIII with many new additions and a conclusion would be the best for SFVI in my opinion, and definitely keep Gill alive because he’s a character in desperate need of fleshing out (the arcade stories in SFIII couldn’t quite give him justice).
Also, good luck to @Doctrine_Dark with his project on CvS2!
@mykka Kind of always liked how CVS’ sprites mixed SNK’s more realistic body proportions with Capcom’s more bright colours and dynamic posing. It’s a shame they couldn’t have the resources to resprite all the Capcom characters in CVS2. That said, I’ll repeat @Phantom_Miria 's sentiment and wish good luck on @Doctrine_Dark and his/her CVS2 project.
On another note, Gill’s and Urien’s rivalry are more akin to Koichi’s and Yomi’s rivalry in the Babel II manga than any of the American comics shit people keep throwing around. Urien and Yomi were both rejected by the tower of Babel in favour of Koichi and so the series kicks off. Hell, the tower in Urien’s 3S ending is literally the tower of Babel and much of Gill’s mannerisms and posing is similar to a Jojo character whose name I don’t know, and that manga was inspired by B2:
IIRC you are correct. It basically described GIll perfectly.
Ahem what is this cvs2 project you speak of?
Watch Alex being the true prophecy boy
Tbh i think at least in SFV Ryu vs Bison is pretty simple…
Ryu is there to stop Bison because he’s the best of “team good guys”
I think Ed will end up being best host once fully possessed… But still his will strenght will resist Bison’s influence, essentially helping “from the inside” good guys
The element you said is true, but Gill’s main anime/manga influence is still Saint Seiya’s Pope Arles/Saga, saint of Gemini
While at it, his name in concept phase was “Gemini” too
I add One more before restart the trip
We have no proof of the existence of an “alphabet company” as organization and independent one while at it
Tbh se don’t have neither the sure proof G and Q are two separate beings
As said many times i just think behind Q mask there’s just after-sfv G being punished (by illuminati i think) for whatever he’s trying to do in SFV
IF that Is correct there’s no big independent group, just a single former Illuminato that tried to start his own shit and got punished
More than start his own thing, i think it’s Just current Illuminati President, who reached 46 years of Age* and don’t want give up the Power
Essentially of i’m correct G Is less crazy than It seem he TRULY “ruled the world”** in last 23 years
*Illuminati succession rule Is at 46 President must left and give the Throne to the next 23yo candidate.
Considering in SF3 it’s Presidency games time Gill/Urien/others, It mean previous President reached 46yo
**As in SF world Illuminati have probably more actual Power than US President/whoever
Ahem…
Who did that?… Who compared Gills and Urien’s rivalry to a western comic book character rivalry?
Anyway, To be fair Gill and Urien is much as their own original character nowadays than what they were in the drawing board compare to the multiple fictional and real references that were combined and used to to be inspired with their design.
As much as Bison isn’t Washizaki anymore other than drawing board inspiration
Same as Sagat isn’t the same character as Reiba The Dark Mu Thai
Sagat had grown to be his own with individual and unique experiences that shape his character as of today.
in Karate Baka Ichidai 空手バカ 一代 Karate Baka Ichidai also known as Karate Master
Street fighters nowadays didn’t had the same impression as they debut games in the early 90s, , especially during the zero/alpha saga that they are given definite characteristics that made them more than just selectable characters in a video game, they are a huge brand with pop culture characters that already even out shined the once they were inspired with, if were talking about familiarity and popularity. They are more household name than those even in the 90s.
So it’s wrong and a step backward to force their brand pop culture characters to act like someone from one of those character they were inspired with, because the only sole reason is they were one of those inspiration before.
Yeah we can agree that there is no proof of existence that alphabet company exist but saying G and Q isn’t the separate beings is the same thing that there is no proof also that G is working under or bellow the secret society order or either he is reporting to either Kolin, Urien or Gill.
The only thing is just G might be Q but it doesn’t mean it is because of the lead, It’s like saying Seth has something with Gill and Urien because of something having in common.
Yeah, but we were saying as character concept/story elements more than character design… and there Saga/Gemini playing “Pope Arles” Is the inspiration for Gill as character under many many points of view
As ingame character design yes, the inspirations are also others, for the anime/manga side either Yuda from HnK or Kars from JoJo
Yuda reminds me more of Vega (Claw).
Gill is the poor man’s Kars though. Mainly because Gill feels like he’s trying too hard to be what Kars is ever so effortlessly.
