The Ultra Inevitable Street Fighter V Story Thread

doesn’t seem all that different from Urien btw

Only problem with GIll is that his primary colors outfit looks dumb as all fuck.

Gill being dislike and immortal, Makes him the better fit to die all over again and again, Like Kupa in Mario or whatever recurring boss, People wouldn’t go into some weird rationale to figure out how he returned or what unlike Bison and Urien that is to risky to put in a destructive situation.

They’re not. They are 2 sides of the same coin, but one is taking a religious spiritual path to the summit, and the other is purely rational and scientific. They both believe they are godkings on this Earth and it is their right/duty to remold the evolution of the species.

Also, neither of these siblings is immortal. The Resurrection technique is just that, a technique that revives and reanimates the body. There is nothing to suggest that Gill can exist beyond his body. Urien put Gill in stasis first before blowing him up. This suggests that there might be a way around Resurrection.

I prefer it over the original black and white concept.

I like the way he is robed in the 2i ending better.

Not enough people played SF3, much less followed its story, to be able to understand what’s going on post 3S without some explanation on Capcom’s part.

Gill is criminally underdeveloped and deserves one 3D title before he can be phased out for Urien.

I don’t mind Gill taking the front villain a while both Urien and Bison are the best bosses in the background. Taking them or the 3 doing turns along with Fang would be fine and doesn’t feels redundant or boring to fans.

Rather than having new cliche uber super power hidden another boss beyond the knowledge of the preexisting and the previous for every new sf games is kinda meh because that would make Bison more less appealing or probably just turned into a generic villain like young Goku’s villain in the OG DB series.

It’s just like how comics does like Thanos, Doom, Ultron and etc.

or if you are into Batman villains… Joker, Raz, Bane, Hush and etc.

That isn’t entirely accurate both Gill and Urien were bred to be superior. The Illuminati chose Gill, he did not chose himself. He fit the description of a long standing preexisting prophecy. I know you like Bison but lets be honest here.

When the sun sets on the Soliton Mountain, the black moon will break into seven pieces and fall on the people “Ultania”. Nothing can prevent this… Death and destruction will violate the land. Misery and suffering will assault the people… Then, after 130 days of nothingness, a boy who controls the elements will come to save the people. -FROM THE BOOK OF MIRAHA 3:11

Ironically Bison seems to have set the prophecy in motion in ASF.

Not all the Illuminati chose Gill. Otherwise there wouldn’t have been a culling of the Old Guard during the time of SF5. The fact that they were bred to be superior doesn’t change this truth also. Gill chose himself to be Messiah/Emperor (not the same as President) then attempted to engineer this into reality and he succeeded.

Furthermore, that Illuminati’s prophecy was predicted to happen in the 23rd century. Gill saw a similarity in Bison’s plan and exploited it to add to his own myth. There are many inconsistencies between what was written in the book of Miraha and the events of ASF. Gill casually ignores them and deems them as inconsequential because that suits his plan.

The actual prophecy, the one that is 100% accurate, is the one Bison and Rose knew to be true from the Alpha era, and predicted it right down to Ryu’s final battle with Bison. That is why Bison was just chilling and waiting in ASF. Because he knew what was to be, and that it was inevitable. Gill is a false prophet.

In something like fortune telling versus prophesy or it’s prediction versus expectations… there are things that are to consider especially with accuracy, being effective isn’t about 100% accuracy…

Tarots isn’t meant to be a future outcome set in stone, Rose knew only the danger and probability that she also want to stop and prevent Ryu sometime in Alpha. Rose acts as Ryu guide same as the SFA anime film role of Rose.

It’s like how Doctor Strange warns the avenger team regarding the possibility to be victorious against Thanos.

Rose knew enough, just like Bison. And Bison doesn’t use tarot cards.

She knew Bison was going to bring about an apocalyptic event, and she knew Ryu was the only one who could stop him. This is why she sought Ryu in SF4 in order to keep him alive until it was time for him to play his role.

Agree with Bison but not supernatural like rose, other than just expect things would went it’s either calculated via present situation and his expectation of himself and Ryu as well. So even with those in mind he just goes on with the moons. Just a good ol experienced and wise villain with a expectations already for both situations.

As for Rose she does just knew the danger but not the outcome. Bison’s defeat isn’t really absolute but the threat is the certain one it’s either threat on Bison or Ryu.

If Ryu gives in… he will became enhancement to Bison, but if Ryu overcome the situation he will became Rose’s champion against Bison.

Neither Bison or Ryu knew for certain the outcome, only that it was fated and inevitable to fight.

Ryu’s story as it concerns Bison is so convoluted. Most forced thing ever. You can tell Ryu clearly doesnt give 2 damns about Bison but somehow he has to be there.

You got Guilr, Chun, and Cammy all worried. Ryu just there so he can spar with them later.

Not forced, it’s actually very organic and linear. It’s really simple:

Alpha - Bison is searching to recruit/brainwash the strongest fighters in the world. Learns of Ryu, the guy who just beat the other strongest fighter in the world.

SFAlpha3/SF2 - Bison senses something great within Ryu and now he wants more than to recruit him, he wants his body because we learn that Bison is like that. However, Bison accidentally awakens the SNH within Ryu in the process of trying to subjugate him. Ryu spends the next few years struggling with the trauma brought on from their first battle.

SF4 - Bison has a keen interest in the development of this new power he found in Ryu, and orchestrates its development via proxy (SIN) in hopes that it fully awakens and reaches maturity. This is the only reason Seth was allowed to do anything, it’s because Bison wanted to know more about the SNH which is a power very similar to his own.

SF5 - Bison “inspires” Necalli through a really convoluted scheme to seek out Ryu and fight him, forcing Ryu to have to tap into his potential in order to defeat this supernatural opponent. With the goal that if Ryu’s power finally awakens, then he will be ready to give Bison the ultimate all-or-nothing battle - Yes world domination is merely a byproduct of his true ambition, fighting!

To Bison’s surprise in the end, he finds out that the power that Ryu used to defeat Necalli, is not the same power he awakened in Alpha 3 - but something entirely different. That’s what makes Ryu’s final line during the battle “is this the power you seek?” so shady - it’s like “surprise motherfucker!”.

All Ryu cares about is becoming a stronger version of himself, but doing it the “right” way. So to Ryu, Bison’s battle is the ultimate test that he overcame his demons which were summoned forth by the first encounter the two had together. Ryu x Bison is the Shadaloo/SNH arc coming full circle, and concluding.

The execution left a lot to be desired, but it fundamentally stays true to the source material from the 90s.

I think that’s what makes it so compelling, though. Strength will always seek out strength, regardless of feelings. Two guys of Ryu and Bison’s caliber are destined to meet one way or the other, no matter how much they care about eachother, or how much more others care about them.

Of course, the presentation of this point and how they get there is iffy to say the least.

Didn’t the prophecy specify that the “boy” was blond in at least one version? I thought that was a part of Gill’s design (and why I think G is going to be important to the Illuminati arc).

This breakdown just goes to show how stale Bison’s subplot was and how because of that we can’t have Ryu do literally anything else

Aight. w/e squigga. SF1 was about Ryu, SF2 is about Chun/Guile.

3S about those cucks Alex and Urien.

Bison needing Ryu or wanting him is memes. He needs Ryu’s body so he makes a million clones and then makes Seth but then also Abel and then blocks out the moon too.
