I tried to commission a piece from him but he’s so elusive!

Oh really? Hopefully that gets to materialize. Some more of his pieces that I like (He´s got a bit of a Nishimura Kinu flair).

Currently, I’m corresponding with Maxwell Duarte. He has his own style but I think he has what it takes.

How would Gill come back even? What’s his angle this time around if he were to return as the main antagonist?

In NG/2I, he held a tournament and had varying results.

A year after in 3S, and he hasn’t done much to achieve his goals.

And what is it about Alex? Here’s my take on how and why Gill could return as the main antagonist (even though I prefer a new one altogether after 3S).

So in a flashback sequence it is revealed that the events of SF3 were Gill getting ‘all warmed up’ so that he can elevate himself from President to Emperor/Messiah, and consolidate his grip on his cult. He also wanted to test the waters and see who from humanity are the best for his cause, or could stop him.

So in this new chapter, Gill goes full Mysterio (From the new Spider-Man film Homecoming), goes on TV at the UN, announces himself and his order in a bid to deceive the world into believing in him as the Messiah and the de facto leader of a new world order. On the other end, Gill is orchestrating all kinds of 9-plagues-of-Egypt shit like terrorist attacks and climate catastrophes to incentivize people’s faith in him.

The way that Alex fits into all this is that he is actually the “chosen one” mentioned in the prophecy (see Gill’s 2I ending), and Gill is the pretender trying to emulate the chosen one but is in fact a false messiah. Gill’s interest in Alex is to ensure that nobody ever finds out about Alex’s real role in all of this.

Urien AKA Judas is going to have a field day with this information of course.

Throw in a few sub plots such as Nash-Twelve, Avengers, Akuma>Gouken, Neo-Shadaloo, Alphabet Company, and Sauron/FANG in the background, and we can have ourselves a relatively decent party of characters.

I honestly expect a LOT of retconning to happen to make the SF3 story with Gill as the main big bad a reality. Hell, we’re basically already treading that era with the 3S cast being included into Street Fighter IV’s roster, since if we were to go by the original character ages - somebody like Makoto would literally have to be like 14, which clearly doesn’t seem to be the case in her IV’s appearance

So in other words, if SF6 somehow miracleously decides to tread past where SF5 ended and officially kick off the Illuminati arc - then be prepared to forget everything you knew about Gill, Illuminati and that entire 3-game story arc from the SF3 series

Am I the only one that thinks SF6 is going to be a some sort of SF3 remake? I mean, every one in this forum are willing to know what happens after SF3, but I don’t think that will be wise to jump ahead that much for the casual audience which didn’t know that SF3 exists until 4 was announced.

Think that you played 4, 5 and then when you start the story mode of 6 you see how Gill (who the f*ck is this guy?) got beat by Alex (why is that secondary character from 5 having a main spot?), while Ryu is being trained by Oro (is this the guy in the individual stories from 5? Who is he?) elsewhere.

Remaking 3 could be useful to tie better the story with 4 and 5, introduce the characters that are still missing and polish them.

Story mode could go from before tournament to beyond beating Gill ass with Alex.

Plus: universal parry.

My ideal SF6 takes place 3-5 years after 3S. I do not think it will be a remake of SF3. Capcom can use flashbacks like in SF4/5 to retcon shit.

My alternative SF6 is something crazy and it takes place 30 years before SF2 with a young Gouken and Gouki taking the place of Ryu and Ken. We see younger versions of some characters and learn about their beginnings. We also see a lot of old or dead characters s such as Goutetsu to play out their role.

But I digress. Remaking SF3 would be a mistake. If we need to go there SF4’s soft reboot of Alpha3/SF2 would be the way to do this and have the game take place 6-12 months after SF3.

Frankly I’m more worried Capcom will go backwards in the timeline again than if they remake/retell the SF3 story

There’s not much to go back to within the timeline (which is about 10 years from SF1 to 3S). Everything in this time period has been covered.

So we either:

1- Do an SF4 and start almost immediately after 3S.
2- Do an SF2/5 and start 3-5 years after 3S.
3- Do a 10-15+ year time jump before SF1 or after SF3.
4- Hard reboot of the timeline.

I think most people want to move forward, but not MKX forward and fill the game with Street KidZ.

I’d like to start off minutes after 3s. I don’t want time skips. To catch people up, do a epilogue movie narrated by Rose. I’ve said this before, but MK having Johnny narrate the cliff notes history was a good move. Do that for SF’s history and also use that as an excuse to say who won the tournament, if it ended with Akuma, the Alpha 3 styled free for all etc, condense the events of SF3 and I couldn’t off a new generation of story.

We’ve danced around post 3s for too long and there’s so much potential for everyone, so I’d rather not waste time anymore.now that we’re so close.

Same. Right about here… Literally…

To clarify, I think Urien’s ending can be a good stepping stone for what’s next for the Illuminati or what’s left of them, in the same way Seth was a stepping stone for Shadaloo’s resurgence after the events of SF2. If Gill survived the 3S ending, it’ll be another “gotcha” moment ala Urien’s 2I ending. If Gill actually died in the 3S ending, it could make the survivors of the Illuminati band together to restore their cult and its image after those 2 siblings ran it to the ground with their “ideals”.

Gill shouldn’t die. He did nothing, never felt threatning… but the fact he’s supposed to be this all-powerful being makes it feel like a waste. He needs to survive and move on with the prophecy stuff… Though I’d agree that Urien becoming Emperor of the Secret Society would probably be for the better. Lots of interesting stuff there, especially with the newly introduced Kolin and the wildcards like Juri and Viper who can kind of play both sides.

We already saw Gill using real world terror events to his advantage by aligning them with his prophecies to instill belief in his followers. The next logical leap is for him to fabricate more of these events himself or through a hired proxy group. With the goal of not just solidifying faith in him but also to grow his followers beyond the limits of his secret society.

The next evolution for the SS therefore is for them to stop being a secret but to do so with intentionality and in the pursuit of control.

Urien being the atheist he is likely will do everything he can to pull the curtain down and reveal the wizard sitting behind. Gill knows this but he won’t kill his own brother because that would make him no better than Urien (but Gill also likes to torment Urien so they are both fucked up). So they are stuck in this brotherly cycle of abuse and forgiveness.

Shadow governments, syndicated crime, and blatant terrorism/evil is the domain of Bison. The Illuminati should stick to religious anti-villainy and there is plenty of real world inspiration for that. That’s how you make Gill relatable and the Illuminati stand out.

It would be hella weird if SFV does this whole “end of Shadaloo” story, teases Gill after credits, then we get SF6 and it’s like Gill’s dead

uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh wot

Like I said before the better moment I like it is to makes it within the SF3 timeline something that is also happening but in a different place with different people in involved in a different event rather than a timeskip or a aftermath.

So it would be within the same exact timeline but with new characters from sf4 and sf5 together with Sf2 and Sfa characters but had a different event they were involved into. Probably not a tournament but a battle with Fang or Urien, before knowing that Urien is also connected with Gill.

So it connects everything and explains where is everyone and rest, no one absent, there is no gap and they just have a different role and involve in a different event or case. That everything ties together to each other.

Im also okay with aftermath of the sf3 tournament but no timeskip like @shockdingo is into, i don’t mind seeing Sf3 design returning in full glorious 3D renditions.

I think this would be the best scenario. Retold SF3 but involving other characters. This way you can still use old fan favorites, introduce properly the whole Secret Society, Gill and his mambo jumbo prophecy and the rest of the characters from 3 that don’t have a spot in 4 or 5.

Gill should have some grandiose event worthy of his status. The cosmos has chosen him to be the messiah and Urien his Judas! Whereas Bison was something akin to a parasite.

Let’s be clear, Gill is a spoilt brat who chose himself and is orchestrating a grand self-fulfilling prophecy to justify his ego.

Bison is a warrior-turned-evil incarnate, and so long as evil exists in the world now… So will Bison!

He should have a grandiose event though, just know the difference between a charlatan and the devil himself.

Agree Gill is the best filler recurring disposable boss for his abilities that fits a fighting game genre than Bison. And Capcom should keep him always an NPC of SF as either a challenger, secret or a last boss.

As for Bison he can be always the better badass boss but not the center of attention. He can be choosed and played like he was in SF4 compare to what he is role in Sf5 that puts him in the stage front and always be destroyed which isn’t a better direction for him. The one the pulls the greater strings for future events but not the spotlight.
