Overall i think they fucked up at design standard SFV looks
SFV Honda costume is… Functional, but It fail at catch the eye. Looks what you expect from an Honda alt, not from a signature new look
They did great with model, animations and all that but that design itself is forgettable
Poison redesign feel forced. It’s like they just took SF4 one and tried hard to change It for the “change” itself… does’nt feel to have much harmony, elements seem changed one by one to be different from before.
Different hat (maybe best part), different hair (for worse, as her hair was an huge distinctive trait) and some gadgets that mostly disturb(lil belts)
I’m ok with glove/socket, and while previous sf4 short whip was better as design pov, new normal one allow a waaay richer moveset also on visual side
Overall they had some good ideas, but as a whole SF4 was better

Forgetting for a moment they could have stayed loyal to original source and she could have been way more unique than what we got
Standard design alone Is a bit a mess
Tbh barely seem a SF design, too many useless layers, lack of simplier line, pieces that feel out of place where they could have stayed minimal
On good side some alts are very good, specially Honda (Nos, Bat, Story) and Poison (Nos, Bat)
3.) Delta Red - background characters that even appeared in the cartoons and crossover but never seen in game fights.
4.) Thawk or Noembelu - they need a happy ending. Whoever would appear from them would be nice to be told a story. Many claims to dislike Thawk but the guy is unique.
5.) Necro with Effie - I really do want a Blanka x Necro or a Dhalsim x Necro. Probably the last chance will see this posibility.
6.) Tom - would be an interesting preview and filler character at this period.
But in the end regardless of what Capcom is into I would fully appreciate even without any characters. I am fully at peace with character rrquest with SFV alrèady. The one I am really concerned is just fix better FM and fix on the current available before the curtain is closed.
Anyone else feel like Poison in SF has more in common with Linda from Double Dragon than she does herself in Final Fight?
Like, Poison was never a whip user in the Final Fight games. And even back then it feels like she was ripping off Linda’s shtick of “token girl thug in a street gang”. And now, in SF, she even uses Linda’s signature weapon.
Hell, Poison even says “On your knees!” now, which was Linda catch phrase in Double Dragon Neon. Although, in fairness Neon’s Linda clearly stole Poisons outfit.
How I wish Poison in SFV was Roxy instead lol. It might had been better for the narrative progression but yeah the best choice for a game is Poison because of the popularity and dlc purchases.
Vega/Bison’s Psycho Miasma costume gives an additional win quote versus all Zero/Alpha characters (including himself). Interesting that Kage isn’t included. Most of those winning quotes are translations from Zero 3. Some seems to be new, or they could be from Zero 1 - 2, although I doubt it.
I have collected them all. I’ll transcribe it tomorrow if someone doesn’t do it first.
Agree. She was a wishlist character for me but feels like a completely unrelated character.
This is also my issue with Kolin - her SF3 hair needs to be used more in her alts, ideally in her default outfit. Same should have at least applied for Lucia.
Sorry guys, the entire hair budget for AE DLC was spent on G’s beard. All future characters will be bald or wearing hats. They saved just enough to do Honda.
Yup. Thawk is one of the most deserving characters to have a appearance and have a nice story for the closure of the finally of shadaloo saga neear Sf2 timeline.
Noembelu is better with lazer Psycho blade axe, rather than real blades. But Thawk would be much prefered.
