This Story costume Poison might be my fav version of her…ever. Literally perfect.
We got to see some of our favorite SF Waifus wrapped with towels around them. I’m sure that constitutes as time well spent.
We also learned how Rashid dries himself and got to see a partially naked Ryu. Honda’s story is the SF equivalent of porn. All’s well.
What the heck is Juri doing with all the other girls in the public bath? She should be fighting them. Unless she’s checking them out.
Surprised to hear Lucia pronounce “al garete” without sounding too much like a gringo.
Real talk, after thinking about it a bit, I lost what respect I still had for Ono after this. Not because of the leak, but because he went crying on Twitter and didn’t have enough pride in his own work to show it off without the surprise factor. He literally hasn’t announced anything since Kage; either he had a meltdown and canceled everything, or he wasn’t even going to go in the first damn place and is trying to BS people so he looks like less of a bitch.
Seriously, this wasn’t even the only fucking thing leaked this year; Cassandra and Nightwolf were both leaked and those devs still went up and showed off what they had. Not going means even he knows this was a weak showing. Anyone proud of their work would leap at the chance to show it, even if it’s already known. Dude is cancer and can’t get the boot fast enough at this point.
What are you talking about?
What happened was not his fault, or even Capcom’s. Valve owned up to it. Capcom cleverly added the leaked trailers on their feed’s rotation of ads, making showing them on stage again redundant. They made lemonade.
Yet this man (who was rightly disappointed and saddened by what happened) still went on stage for us and told us that despite the leaks Capcom actually scrambled to put together another announcement for EVO but did not have enough time. So instead he at least shared with us the road map for the rest of the year, with 2 major SF5 announcements planned in November and December. We got our annual “Shoryuken” also (that means something to people btw, just like having Seth and James close out the ceremony).
Also, do remind me what other game at EVO got 3 characters released overnight in their 4th year?
Someone stole their thunder after months of work and you want to shit on Capcom for it? Your comment about him being cancer also is crass, and completely uncalled for.
That image is beyond awesome. I was cracking every time it popped up in his story.
I have a minor gripe though.
The back of Bison’s leg in his Alpha sprite was incorrectly colored silver/gray, giving the illusion that his shin guards covered the back and front of the bottom half of his leg.
In all the Alpha (and other games) art however, the armor only ever covers the front side.
I guess they were trying to be faithful to the sprite as much as possible. It’s excellent though. While I prefer his middle of the road SF5 body, the roided Alpha look translated well into SF5. They also got the shoulder pads right.
Capcom is back to using ludicrous Japanese weights for the characters. Honda is barely over 300lbs, Poison is 115lbs, and Lucia is 128lbs. Poision is the same height as Laura. No way Laura is 44lbs heavier than her. Lucia is 5’8 and she weighs less than 5’5" Cammy. Honda is just self explanatory.
It’s the boobs
/s
No way their technology can’t figure it out.
Also, oh shit, bigtocchiro just liked one of my posts from January. It’s happening in this thread, too!!
instantly falls in love
MORE FORESHADOWING!!!
lifts eyebrow ooooooooh? Interdasting!
lmao at Honda and Mika’s quotes to each other
Holy crap, they are really going all out with Shadow Lady, I thought it was just an alt, but dang, could this mean more EX characters on the horizon?
I’m telling you there is something going on.
The Mad Gear are no longer villains. Sodom, Abi, Poison, and Hugo have all gone legit. Rolento is a bit crazy but he’s not here. Belger is also “dead”.
So who could have a political interest in taking down Cody and become the mayor of Metro City? Could it be someone who wants to use that position as a stepping stone to the President’s office?
President of the UNIVERSE that is!!!
If he did actually go on stage, I withdraw my comment; some of what was said sounded like he wasn’t going to go and I haven’t heard any mention of him being at EVO since. In fact, I remember reading him say something about no Shoryuken this year, which was where I got the impression from.
But really, what other EVO game goes radio silent for 8 months just to hype up having less at this point in the year than before? G and Sagat were revealed at EVO last year after 4 characters were already released. Valve dropped the ball on what was already a shitty plan. Even if they did keep it secret, 2 characters and Lucia at this point is almost a joke.
Yeesh man, sometimes I think your anger and disappointment with things lately has darkly coloured your bias.
I’m gonna agree with @Daemos, he had every right to be upset and disappointed. Put yourself in his shoes and think about what goes into coordinating announcing something like this, rehearsing and who knows how they planned on doing things.
There has been a huge lull in news, no one can deny that and it’s frustrating, but his position and the structure of leadership has changed, he was the one communicating with us and asking us to be patient so who knows, maybe if it were up to him he would have said something, but his bosses wanted quiet for longer. Again, we’re all outsiders, so it’s easy to judge. Who knows what happened behind the scenes, he probably got shit on by his superiors, I mean in the past, they already worked him super hard, so having a surprise THAT WASN’T HIS OWN FAULT, isn’t gonna go over well.
He aint no friggin’ cancer on the series man. Sure he’s done stuff I don’t agree with, but that’s too far. Jeeze man…
All’s well that ends well. Sometimes a break from regular programming is needed to reflect and understand the way forward. They could’ve handled it a lot better, but if all this silence is about to bear plenty of fruit, then we’re fine. As I said, all’s well that ends well.
