you don’t have to addb H, you cn just air S and dash back in the air while you’re off screen and do an L blast.
also if you want addb H, just delay the H, don’t plink it.

I’ve been playin mag dorm doom for a while now (long before evo, which made that especially cool!) But am now lookin for a 2nary with a true ‘lock them down mix them up’ strat. I don’t much feel like running drones, so I’ve been messing with cold star. My question, toanyone else who plays CS-Mag, is if you have any particularly good setups, not for the mixup once they’re locked down, but more foor catching them in a nice grounded cold star itself (blocked is fine obv). Anything good to know besides get close, hit button? Thanks!
End combos with jS, land and time repulsion with Ammy assist so it meaty’s forward roll.
End hypergrav loops with ammy assist + crH xx Repulsion.(braindead and 0 timing required)
On incoming characters Meaty StH xx Gravitation while calling Ammy Assist. This is some derpy technology that I’m not sure if anyone else is using, the only escape from the mixup is to take the stH and forward roll, any other option they’ll eat the lockdown assist and you get free mixups.
Not sure if there is any safe way to set cold star up midscreen due to this assist’s startup. But if coldstar is active you can probably use attraction to push them into it. You can also probably cross them up with sj addf jM or jH or boxdash Magnetic blasts to set it up.

For the meaty sH welcome one, assuming we time our sH perfectly, are they not able to avoid our making contact with it? They can’t fly away or press a button and stuff meaty a sH? (not counting invincible stuff like Hard Drive or Phoenix’s QCF super, etc)

X-Ray’s been playing Mag/Doom/Ammy for a while. I think he was the first one to pick the team during pre-release + he was the best Amaterasu in vanilla.

Anyone got the [addf L jump L] loop down on big characters yet? I get to 7 hits and then my brain can’t command my fingers anymore.
Even if you don’t time it perfectly, they cant escape using double jumps/adub because gravitation will suck them in. The real problem is high priority incoming moves with a downward angle(Helm Breakers/Footdive’s/Divekicks). If you time your stuff perfectly you should beat them, but their priority can lead to you getting happy birthday’d, so you have to see the interaction between the hitboxes in training mode, (ie for footdives you want to backdash before doing stH otherwise chances are you are going to get stuffed, for Dante’s Helm Breaker you want to get close to the corner and time it well.)

I tried out the team last night, but ddnt have time to practice all the cold star setups. High hopes though! Anyway, to cover my lockdown bases, ill probably mess with sent as well and see which I like better. I was wondering there was any kind of mag-drones technique tips that one should know (again, more. For. Setting up the lockdown than the mixups themselves).
One thing I’ve noticed the good mag drones players seem to do is backdash and “tag” the far side of the screen as they call drones, presumably to keep sent as hidden as possible. I figure an adf L blast is good to attempt to hold them in place, and assume in air confirm if drones catch them jumping is something like jump, adf MH, land, sL or jump jH adf jH xx L blast, land, combo. Something like that? I know this isn’t new territory or anything, but any important dos and donts for drones-mag would be helpful, as I’ve been playin him with missiles forever now.
Then ill see if I have a pref between drones and cold star for my lockdown, doom in the middle either way. Thanks!
Doom/Ammy is stronger than Doom/Sent, just sayin.
All u have to do is go full screen call drone do a em disrupter to stop ground advance or hyper grav to stop air advance or jump h then s then go nuts on ur mixups…

With drones u can basically spam disruptor and chill… Imo its either drones or hidden missiles with magnus or nothing

Definitely. But drones are prob better for mag. And both are at least half decent for both. -shrug-
Depends on how you like your team composition. Drones is definitely better but the team is too front heavy and powers down alot once Magneto dies + has very limited tools against dedicated zoning. Doom/Ammy struggles against zoning too but at least you get the THC ridiculousness + Ammy is a stronger anchor
