Don’t do Magnetic Shockwave in the corner, it’s never worth a meter to just add 80k damage. You can end it with a EM Disruptor in the air and cancel it into Tempest.if you don’t have flly/unfly down
It isn’t enough of course because it’s a demo. I don’t really think that combo is even worth following up with a Shockwave, but at times when I’m forced to use it though, I usually plink dash back while calling drones. So I’m already at the other side of the stage while that person has to think about incoming drones and whether or not their moves can beat them out.
Online though, the combo that I do regularly are these two:
That one does around 600k after the standing light…
…and this one does around 800k after fully mashed super. Hope that helps with your combo references!
How much does that usually do after a max rep fly loop?

If you watched his combo he dashes backwards and uses attraction before using Shockwave bringing them out of the corner.
I’ll give the other combos a shot, I’ve done your magblast loop in the corner before, I’m pretty sure you’ve posted that video and I commented on it. It’s fairly simple, the only real tricky part is the fact that the motion of magblast is pretty unnatural. I think the version I did had tempest off of the grav though, not the grav super-jump. The second one looks similar to the above video you posted with a different start. I’ll be practicing that as it seems to be the default Magneto BnB for anyone that’s not Fanatiq

I have been doing something similar to this, but I haven’t tried the hype grav loop part. Could you make a video of this combo with both the reset and magnetic tempest ending?
Attraction + Shockwave really only adds one hit of the pillar to the Shockwave the majority of the time + there’s far more chance of dropping it compared to EM Disruptor xx Tempest because sometimes they’ll get out of OTG state.
The grav loop is actually pretty basic, after magneto grabs someone he tows them along for a brief period of time, you just need to super-jump up in the air which will drag them up, you then air-dash directly down, allowing you to get a couple of hits in before you grav them up again. It would loop forever if it wasn’t for hitstun deterioration.
Is magneto more of a reset character than a TOD character now? Or can he still kill with like a DHC if I get a clean hit at the beginning of the round?
Edit: also what are the major combos I need to learn?
I can do the fly loop (H dash H…) but I could use more practice, and I need to learn the magnetic blast combos. Is there anything else? Do I need to learn the hypergrav stuff and is that just corner specific?
He ToDs but he does it through juggling, not through OTGs, Magneto basically gets them into the air, pushes them into the corner from the air and does loops to juggle them. He doesn’t generally mash hypers, if you watch most of the pros play they usually juggle their target for a long enough amount of time to build enough meter to finish them with a Gravity Squeeze when they finally do knock them down.
BnBs should do 700K-800K then when you DHC into another hyper it should be around 900K-1M.
The only time you want to reset is off of throws, unless you can combo and build 3 bars to gravity squeeze.
so can magneto reliably build 2 bars so I can gravity squeeze and kill the first character from the start of the round? or should I be looking to tempest and dhc for the kill? also do I need hypergrav to combo into tempest?
DHC tends to be a bad idea with Magneto unless somethings near dead and you need that extra push (like from a shockwave into a photon cannon), Magnetic Tempest is almost always bad for a DHC as it has terrible hit scaling (it does something like 80 hits mashed out). I can’t tell you how to play from the start of the round as it depends what you’re facing but Magneto has a strong neutral, with assists you can easily control space with mobility and distruptor and look for an opening (tri-dash or grav - h tend to be good). If you’ve got a bar or two you can combo someone into a gravity squeeze easy, just learn the fly h adf h juggle and the standard corner grav loop.
whugh… Drones extension damage… so so delicious
also… as a vergil player… LOL Throw damage magneto to vergil
Man you should see some of the crazy shit I’ve been doing with Drones and Repulsor Blast… I’m still learning my Mags game so I’ve been fucking up BnBs and still doing massive damage with resets and extensions.
sure thing.
A#1: Yes he can.
A#2: Yes and no although Sabin already covered that question.
Also Din0 you didn’t answer my question =/
He can’t kill off of a grab at the beginning of the round anymore for most characters.
Are you sure? because that wasn’t what he was asking. He was wondering if you could “*reliably build 2 bars” *at the start of the round to do a lv3. Something Magneto has always been able to do to everyone.
I’m relatively sure he can’t build a full 2 bars at the start of the round anymore without a reset or TAC, but I could be wrong so I’ll test it when I get home. Even if he could, Magneto’s meterless damage tops out around 630k solo with assist so that’s around 315k after a grab + unscaled Gravity Squeeze mashed out is 450k so that equals a total of 765k, which only kills Strider, Akuma, Phoenix, and Rocket Raccoon, none of which are ever really seen on point.
Thanks for all the answers guys! Uhh still wondering if I need to learn hypergrav loop or should I just do magnetic blast stuff even if I’m in the corner?
Is there anything I need to practice other than fly loop, magnetic blast combos, and maybe hypergrav?
But the point is you don’t want to grab them at the start of the round. Bait them for good damage god damn it!!!
You should learn both as they will help you increase the amount of damage your magneto can do instead of just the same bullshit magic series, fisher fuckin price :l: :h: :s: shit I’m always seeing online
I’d like to know the same…as i’ve put in some time learning trying to learn Magnus; I have the fly loop down 100% (in training mode), and can convert it into grav loop…tho my grav loop is a lil ghetto I use addf M instead of addf H after the grav, just works easier with my timing. Anyways, I’d like a better fullscreen combo than fly loop or at least something to work towards, any suggestions/videos? There were so many grav tutorials on yt its pretty sweet. But man this dude takes practice, compared to doom…I wonder if the beam assist is worth it sometimes…agh
