It’s possible to enjoy 3s online just like you would offline but that requires a deeper understanding the games mechanics. Knowledge like that will generally bolster one’s ego. I can play every single character in this at a mid-high level and can play my best characters at a top level. I can dissect Japanese play and even predict match outcomes based on subtle moments in play. If that’s not mastery than I obviously do live in another world. The people that are abusing lag tactics will most likely never see my posts, or the videos included. They may look at this forum occasionally, but I doubt that more than a few visit this particular thread. Those types of people aren’t interested in the inner workings of the game; they don’t want to learn anything new in their current state. It can be annoying, but no amount of complaining or bickering is going to change that. For them to change, either they’ll have to come to terms with the fact that what they are doing wouldn’t work under ideal conditions (most of the time, for reference, see Kuroda’s Elena vs Nuki…), or they’ll need to be beaten into submission. Those that won’t change are lost causes, essentially what I’m saying is people just need to stop giving a shit about those people that frustrate them, it isn’t helping and whoever posts about it is putting more effort into complaining than it took the online trolls to annoy you.

Logically there should be scrutiny in this thread, that’s the main point to it. There should be questions and answers, scenarios and theories, statements and replies. What shouldn’t be here, is advice based around general gameplay, or implications towards someones motivations behind posting information. Personally? I chose video games because I royally messed up my knee, I used to do nothing but sports. I can only hope to be half as good in 3S as I was in Basketball.

BTW, this dash weirdness could be used offline in a scenario such as… Hit a button and hold it, walk back and forth, then input df-back, then quickly forward, if timed correct, there won’t be the hesitation of a back dash, there won’t be that pixel shift forwards as you have to hit towards twice to dash (which can eliminate something like getting caught at the end of the dash with Chun cr.Fwd). Your opponent might see the crouch as a parry attempt, then you walk back a few pixels, barely out of range, opponent counters, then you dash punish. The timing is a bit tight, but it would look sick. Or at least it does in my head… /theory nonsense

Creating video is a long arduous process, not everyone can do or you wouldn’t wish re-records and rendering wait time and problems in encoding on anyone if you’ve ever been through it yourself, so there shouldn’t be anymore “lol combovideo” drama which I never fully understood. But I guess I hated on that other guy’s TAS kinda ones, $100 gets 100 tacos. He certainly put in time to understand momentum perhaps, which could make an Elena match be a choreographed jungle, like I think she needs to be played with momentum, a rhythm, or I guess even a kind of dance hah.

Telesniper: Could you explain what you mean with your method of TKD. From the explanation it looks to me like your hitting :f: and :df: between lpx2 and the lk. Is this kinda like the idea of hitting lpx3 to make sure the input gets registered at the right time. So effectively your trying to get 2 toward inputs at the middle portion?
Correct, I’m trying to maximize my chances of getting the towards input to register at the correct point, I don’t know for sure if it help mechanically, but it definitely helps my consistency!
With recent dash/towards input discrepancies, I’m not sure if it’s actually adding that towards input… I’ll do some tests in a bit.

I had a hard time setting it up to test it on OE but depending on where I was in the air when I got hit by it and such I could reversal do reversal shootdown backbreaker. sometimes that would get grabbed by stungun though. Can’t check now but id guess reversal hammer mountain could work.

EDIT: Ok, tried with Hugo jumping from a little further back… cr.Fierce didn’t get him out… But reversal EX Lariat hit Alex! The timing looks like the same in the video. It’s funny, reversal EX Lariat was stuffed before, but now it was the only way out… Maybe a non-reversal EX Lariat would have worked with the other timing…
TBF ex lariat would be the last thing a hugo would try after suddenly seeing sa3 activate
