I must say St Hk and st Hp are good pokes against Fei, they can stop Fei’s trying to poke with Rekkas.
Also st hp beats CW clean in a wide range of spacing(did that make sense?).

BE careful with that one though. Fei Can Whiff punish those Without a problem. and im pretty sure he can Counter with his Low fierce if you get too happy using them. If he tries to poke with rekka your probably better off using c.HK to possibly Whiff punish his rekka,or score a knockdown/CH.

Yeah this is godlike, I beat EX CW with it before too,using St.FP…CW is so cheap in this game…that annoying ass crossup lol.

Against Rose close stMk on wake. I’m not 100% sure but I think Guy can use crMk to counter her close stMk on wake. The window is small but I think it’s possible. I tested this many times in training and it may be valuble.

A good set up against Rose Ex Soul Spiral is to use crHp, Back Dash and Punish. So the Rose player blocks the crHp and inputs Ex Soul Spiral to counter. Guy back dash and punish. I personally like Ultra 2 and stHk into Bushin Chain as a punish. To test this, just record Guy as player 2 in training mode.
Vs Chun Li
You can counter Chun Li’s Jumping Hard Kick Over Head on wake by simply Blocking. You can counter with Run Slide, Medium Hozanto and Ex Hozanto while she’s coming down. You can also Back Dash on wake and have time to counter with Run Slide before she hit’s the ground because of her floatly jump arc. I also believe you can use crMk on wake and it should whiff Chun Li’s over head.
Vs Blanka
Ultra 2 Frame Trap against any version of Forward Rolling Attack, Electric Attack and any normal version of up Rolling Attack on wake. Just counter Blanka’s forward rolling attack with Run Slide, Neutral Jump into Ultra 2. Another one is to land Bushin Flip, Forward Jump into Ultra 2.
vs Ryu
crMk, forward dash into Ex Bushin Flip (is uncrouchable)
crMk, into a quick Low or Medium Bushin Flip, then block (can bait out and is safe against a reversal DP and Ultra 2)
crMk, Forward Dash twice into a quick Ninja Sickle (cannot be thrown on Wake)
crMk, Forward Jumping Mk, Back Dash (can bait out and is safe against a reversal DP and Ultra 2)
crMk on block, followed by a quick crMp can Counter hit or Trade against Ryu’s crMk or Sweep
crMk on block, if Ryu counter with crMk into Fireball. If you block Ryu’s crMk; input Medium Tatsu and it will go through Ryu’s Fireball and score a little damage against Ryu. You can also replace Medium Tatsu with Ex Bushin Flip or Ex Run Slide/Neck Flip.
crMk, Forward Dash into a quick Neutral Jump Elbow Drop (will Stuff Ryu’s Low DP on Wake), (if Ryu Back Dash on Wake, I believe you can punish with Guy’s normal Slide, stMk, stMp, crHp, stHp, Medium Tatsu or Ex Hozanto.
If Ryu doe’s a DP and Guy block’s it. If Ryu cancels into a back dash, Guy can punish it with Ex Hozanto.
so you knockdown with cr.mk, dash forward and have a 1 frame link to grab with ex bushin flip? if that works with ryu, wouldn’t it work with everyone else except ssf4 adon?

I also have an idea for the punishment thread. Since, Trag is MIA, I thought we could take the information that’s already there and add to it for every character and either mod edit the first post or make a new one. I was thinking we can assign a character to a guy player to go to training mode and test out punishes for every specials possible and post it in point form like some already have. After that you can update the match up thread with the punishes for each character.
Knowing what to punish is a big part of match ups and I think if people volunteer to handle at least one character, we can get so much done in such a short time. Now it might be more practical to do this for AE when it hits console since there have been so many changes. Just throwing the idea out there in the mean time.

Good question. That setup stuffs All versions of Adon’s Fighting Jaguar on his wake. But Elbow Drop will lose to a delayed version of Medium, Fierce and Ex Fighting Jaguar. This also stuff’s Vega’s wake, all versions of Cody’s criminal uppercut, etc…
I thought you couldn’t use the EX Bushin Flip trap on characters with 3frame reversals. However I think if you do it earlier, you can grab shoryu’s late after they’ve already come out.
Today I did the standing bushin chain on Ryu, followed by Ex hozanto into the corner, followed by an immediate ex bushin flip which grabbed him as he did a light shoryuken reversal. It was sweet.
I don’t know how consistent this is as I haven’t really tested it in training - or if it is affected by the corner space somehow. But the characters can force a crouch by doing a crouching normal move right, like low forward for Ryu, so the bushin flip wouldn’t work?

unfortunately she can reversal it.
so you can mix it up with something to bait/beat it … like flip?
Yea it was known long time back… and viper can block it by just holding back then immediately holding forward to block it as crossup(or was it vice versa …i dont remember)
For Rufus,Cr.mk on his wakeup to bait EX messiah.You’ll get hit by the first 3 hits but the last one will whiff,then you can dash in and do bushin chain.
This happens on small hitboxes which is exactly Guys cr.mk does to him,makes him a small hitbox.
^^ It works for Cr.LP as well… though you need to be a bit close… excellent while pressuring him…
walking up close and cr.lk works too. better for pressure if he decides to block
