Speaking of projectiles, one of the few things I liked about SF5 was that it got a bit more experimental with zoning tools. In theory at least; in practice they still sucked lol. But things like Sim’s VT2, Fang/Sim’s arching projectiles, Menat’s detonatable orb…I want more of that in SF6!

I already pointed out other mechanics in my edits.
You can try to downplay them, but they are comeback mechanics.

The difference is that the devs understood that a good comeback mechanic has to serve another purpose besides flipping the dynamics of the match because the player is losing.

We need less of all of it. Save for Sim’s arc and Zeku, almost all new projectiles have been terrible.

Birdie’s can or FANG’s silly stationary nonsense can get stuck in SF5. Even FANGs 2 hit nonsense ruined a lot of normal interactions with no upside.

Also what exactly is FANG ruining? I love unique projectiles in general but I won’t pretend to have any idea what that character does beyond the basics.

I hate Birdie’s can, but I don’t think it’s bad for the game or anything.

Personally I really liked the more creative approach. That doesn’t mean I want the good old fireball + dp gone, but if a new character can offer a new style of defensive zoning, I’m here for it! I think SFV didn’t handle it perfectly, either because those tools were too situational, or because they ended up contributing to the terrible neutral skip in this game (ahem Birdie can).

But I’m sure they can come up with something new and creative that does work, to differentiate from the current options of long limbs or fireball + DP. Also screw youuu FANG’s little wall thing is cool :sob:

I mean they might technically be projectiles as far as the game is concerned, but I feel like that isn’t really what we are talking about (is it?). That’s like saying Sims limbs are projectiles isn’t it?
