The Street Calibur 5 Lounge: The Soul Burns But not as Hard as the FGC is Burning

Man I get bored with DBFZ every now and then, doesn’t mean I start tanking my win/loss ratio for fun. Wtf.

Not to mention that netcode is even worse. Ya’ll can’t stand SFV netcode but at least it has rollback. A lot of ya’ll gonna be on suicide watch once you run into your first Wi-Fi warrior on DBZ. :joy:

That looks like a horrible movie that’s old as dirt and has struggle effects.

Yeah, I’d rather watch it than play SFV too.

Yeah, looking forward to diving into it. I really love drafting / deckbuilding games, this is just a new take on it for me.

…and for that reason I can’t ever have this game on my phone. I’d struggle with putting it down.

Pick up Star Realms hoe.

We can play it on our phones.

The interface and whole process is so fucking smooth on mobile bruh! When it first dropped I was addicted as fuck.

I calmed down since then luckily. :joy:

Gonna disagree there.
Just because sfv netcode is rollback doesnt makes it immediately better.

Before the patch the netcode was barely tolerable, but after the patch the netcode has become really atrocious.

No joke, i have better connection in samsho7 with people in japan than in sfv with people in my city.

What is surprising is that the mvci iteration works much better, but for some reason they dont want to port it to sfv, smfh.

I didn’t say rollback was automatically better, but it’s a helluva lot better than whatever type of delay based netcode DBFZ uses.

Least in SFV I’ve had matches that feel damn near offline with people across the country. DBFZ is usually a 3 frame delay minimum.

That all being said, I’m still gonna prefer and ask for rollback 100% of the time in these games. Skullgirls, Power Rangers, Fighting Herds, Third Strike, ect all feel amazing online and it’s usually regardless of the connection quality too. :man_shrugging:t5:

I dont doubt you had better connections on SFV, and maybe even today.
But the fact is that SFV netcode hasnt been a good one for the majority of its players.

Certainly good rollback is better than good input delay.
But bad / mediocre rollback is sadly worse than even bad delay.

To this day it amazes me how capcom managed to butch the netcode in such a way, even worse because they managed to fuck it even more after the most recent patches.

You are aware that all the rollback netcodes of the games you mentioned set their input delay at that number as well right.
By default, rollback always has input delay on setted at an specific value so you always have a consistent enviroment, and the rollbacks are the way they synch back when a desynch that would tank the connection futher than that threshold happens.

Yes Seth, I would make the same face, if I would have to look at that ass all the time.

It does seem very strange to me how you could possibly even make a netcode WORSE than it already was. Like, I don’t have that many issues with it myself, but even I can tell it’s in a much worse state than before.

This is an area where I think every one of these developers needs to be following Mortal Kombat as an example. Not only did they respond to criticism about their netcode by totally reworking and improving it, but these games LAUNCH with TONS of content for both casual and competitive fans.

High production value story content, frame data IN THE GAME, tons of characters, quick load times, crossplay, Kombat Leagues and plenty of competitive events, tons of cosmetic options, tutorials and challenges that actually give you tools to succeed in real matches…List goes on and on.

People can feel however they want about the actual fighting game mechanics themselves, but there’s no denying they strive to give you a solid product worth paying for. Kind of bums me out SFV took like, 4 years to become a product that even RESEMBLES that.

Sadly i don’t know.

Can’t quite tell what the name is supposed to be, is that LA 3 ?

Not a bad design but i do prefer the other costumes that made it in.

PS : when does the voting stop and what’s the number of total votes for Juri ?

Keep in mind that NRS is only available to go to such lenghts to their production values (although, i would say that their stories despite the fluf are all terrible) is because they have WB Games deep pockets at their disposition.

You cant really expect every game to be able to follow.
And outside Tekken and SFV and SNK offerings, i feel that most games due a great job with their loading times and the other stuff you mentioned.

Also, while is nice for those who like that, at the end imo what nrs spends on their story modes is money that imo is better put into other stuff that matters.
The story mode is something that at best you only touch twice.
And with the advent of youtube and streams, most people just watch another person play it.

Plus at least for me, their other content has become less and less appealing after they became NRS, the early 3d era had better stuff, like the mortal chess, mortal kart, etc.

Right now, they only offer glorified arcade modes with silly modifiers and the krypt, which as for MK11 is just ugh.

And while lets say MK11 offers a lot of customizations, all of them are behind one of the most convulted and obnoxious ways of unlocking it and customize your characters.

As soon as i saw that Tournament mode allowed me to rotate the outfits even if i have not unlocked it, i decided to not even bother

Inj2 had the better customization, even if was marred by the lootbox system it was behind.
MK11 is just some few costumes repeated many times with different colors, which you have to unlock separatedly since they are counted as different outfits.

You cant combine different parts of the costumes like in INJ2, and you have to attach the outfit to a movelist loadout, instead of being able to select it from a list independently from the variation you want to use.

If anything, i feel that outside graphics and bombastic story mode, NRS games have become kind of worse.

And this comes from someone who actually likes MK11 as imo, is their best fg in terms of gameplay so far.

it’s called Laz. I don’t remember which Juri costume made it in but I remember not liking it that much. This one I do like
