Yes cause it wasn’t just dialogue, you got intermissions where you see what she’s thinking and how she feels in the current situation.
True. To be fair, if the games are going to add characterization through dialog for Samus: Fusion is probably the best example of it.
But that tenchu game essentially did kill the series lol
Also I prefer silent Samus. These dialogue scenes gave off a certain vibe. Would rather not know much about Samus than someone ruin the character by telling a wack ass story
Is not about sex, but about seniority.
You see that kind of dynamic between male/female subordinates and male/female superiors.
It only comes as “sexist” because Samus is a woman and people dont understand that aspect of japanese society.
Is one of the few things that triumphs (and not by much) the societal dynamic between young and old people.
They put a lot of respect on people that are at more higher on the chain of command to say it in a way.
You can even see that being translated on other japanese media, and is not only relegated to the dynamics of work and/or military.
It is the same principle behind the senpai kouhai dynamic.
Deepfake. I guess putting a rig over a static image to make it talk and stuff. This has been going on for some time. The new wave is having people sing Baka Mitai from Yakuza.
The rabbit hole goes quite a bit deeper than that, I’m afraid.
But don’t take my word for it. Someone dissected this game better than me.

Already read that, he points a lot of shit either out of context, overblown out of proportion or simply ignoring japanese societal norms.
A massive waste of time.
Your point only really applies to Samus and Adam’s relationship, which is sketchy as all hell, I might add, but the writer is so much of a hack that it’s hard to discern what’s sexist, what’s bullshit and what’s just bad writing.
There’s more than that. Which is why I only linked the page relevant to the discussion.
Like I said before, I consider the story an unironic 0/10, so I don’t want to address all of it unless I stream this atrocity so we can all pick it apart as it unravels.
You see balls I see ass that’s the difference between us
It’s been a long time since I bothered with Other M. IIRC Adam was the commanding officer of the operation and Samus’ former CO. So she was assisting his team and thus differed to him. The PTSD for Samus with Ridley was the one thing immediately bothered me. It literally made ZERO sense.
Gonna go off topic for a second, sorry folks.
I’m tryna learn Urien. This is a character I’ve never even thought about touching before despite playing 3S for years, but I’m having a ton of fun learning him in SFV. So much so that I wanna lab the dude in 3S too I think.
I’m having trouble getting these Kens to back the fuck up though. Any of you Urien players have advice on getting people the fuck off without meter? As far as I can tell his jab is slower than most so you can’t even poke people out of stuff.
I’m also curious what you guys meaty with. I’ve been using s.HK.
Also what V Skill do you guys lean towards? 2 seems better to me.
Exactly.
The whole authorization gimmick? It makes perfect sense up to the Pyrosphere section.
They’re looking for survivors, Samus especializes in pretty much killing anything that moves, of course she gotta get some limits going.
Unfortunately, she has to look for the Lizard in the Pyrosphere, so the mission directive isn’t “Find survivors”, it’s “kill that thing before it gets the rest of us”.
All downhill from there.
Disclaimer: Don’t take my advice at face value because well… This:
With that said, you got a massive reach advantage on your buttons, even if they’re somewhat lacking on the speed department.
Use that. Ken got T-Rex limbs.
Lmao.
I know how to keep people out. He’s got good ass normals. Once they start getting into jab range or closer tho my defense goes out the window. These dudes are doing random jump ins over my head and I feel like I can’t anti air them for shit. C.HP works when they’re farther away, s.HK when they’re a little closer but it’s hella slow. I feel like you really gotta commit to his anti airs.
I need like a Gief style S.LP lmao
Yeah, I really wanted to play Urien back in the day, but couldn’t get over his bad defense and charge specials.
I remember hearing from Urien mains that you really gotta pick the right AA and commit to it, so you’re on to something.
Yeah I thought the charge combos would be annoying to learn but it seems like Bison has prepared me well, lol. I think his combos are insanely fun now actually.
I watch high level Uriens fight but they’re almost never on defense because… Well yeah, he’s Urien.
My issue is less with the combos and more with the neutral.
Can’t stand not having access to all my tools when I want to.
Gotta be constantly squatting son!
Thats just SFV, you gotta lose to get a full character. Gotta make that comeback for the hype!
Wtf does that have to do with SFV? It’s a Charge Character thing in general.
I can say the same damn thing about I dunno, May or Vatista.
You’re letting SFV live in your head rent-free man.
