I yellow ranked in Tekken. Sadly I’m not fast enough to take proper SS

MK11 reminds me that I’m getting old. I’m having trouble remembering every character’s mid/low/overhead strings and I can’t block stuff on reaction anymore that I would’ve seen coming from a mile away in my early 20’s. I got to Demi God recently and went on a 7-win streak before losing to a Grand Master Raiden who beat me by continuously teleporting and chipping away at me by poking my ankles. Depressing.

That’s a good point. And most people agree that punishments, usually jail time, are appropriate responses to the crimes he committed, and this:

Is a great point and a reason he could never be a teacher again.

I just hope he gets the chance to volunteer and coach kids in volleyball and improve someone’s life, but the public dismantling of him would prevent that from ever happening.

call me an optimist, idiot, naive, or whatever, but I wished they did. I’d prefer to see him trying to make the world better after he did so much to make it a living hell for a lot of people.

Him rotting in the cell doesn’t make me feel better, i dunno. It’s a weird moral and ethical debate.

I’m just hoping that the game doesn’t do the stereotypical JRPG/anime thing of saying way to much without actually saying anything at all to the point where none of this thought provoking shit really matters

That’s not new. Sony used to force publishers to include exclusive content on some PSP ports, which sometimes came through as exclusive characters. The PSP versions of X-Men Legends 2 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance both had PSP-exclusive characters for that reason.

The video talks about it from the context of starting as a complete beginner, and getting to the point of knowing what’s actually going on in a real match, less so than established players trying to improve.

I do all of those things online when I play with buddies as well, and I try to point out stuff to work on if I play with less experienced players online too. However, the discourse just doesn’t happen as naturally when you’re not in the same room as the person. It feels a lot more forced, and pointing out that someone always does a particular sequence or has bad habits is a lot easier when they’re sitting in the same room as you, or taking a breath of fresh air outside while ranting about getting their ass kicked. And the mere fact that it feels less natural means that unless the newer players are specifically asking for that feedback, they miss out on it more often online.

Again, personal experience. If that doesn’t match with what you’ve seen on the subject, then hey, different communities handle this differently, I guess?

Well, that’s still good! I only played KL for the first time last night and got to Kombatant so there’s that (but let’s just ignore the fact that you also get points for losing in apprentice )

I also cannot react to Sub’s F2 OH at all. Even in training. I’ll keep at it, hoping I’ll be able to spot it sooner.

And yeah, I can see issues with remembering all the strings. There’s a lot of options to consider.

Is not only a sony thing.
It has been happening on all consoles since day 1.

Tekken Tag 2 having exclussive nintendo themed stuff on the WiiU, games having exclussive content on xbox 360, etc.

Is usually a way to aggregate value to ports, specially when they miney hat the ports/projects.

I get that, and I don’t know how things differ in Japan, but in a lot of places people who abused children but appear to have a genuine desire to change and leave that behind are often sent through rehabilitation programs, instead of merely locked away forever. I imagine he’ll be able to have a life and job after he’s paid his dues to society, but working with kids is probably off the table forever. And it should be, imo. This is some crazy mumbo-jumbo cognition changing magic, who knows if it’s completely permanent or not.

Aren’t you guys in like… very much not Europe?
Can’t imagine that going very well D:

On wakeup you can fuzzy guard to simultaneously defend against F2 and his only threatening low, B3. He has to be fairly close for the latter, so when he hovers just outside of your getup-attack range he’ll usually go for the overhead straight away.

Thanks for informing me. I forgot about all those marvel games back then. Only remembered exclusives being locked to fighting games for a long time.

Awesome! Good to know. Thanks!

Brazil, now imagine Volt picking Ken :open_mouth:

Thats because you cant, that shit is 19 frames

Generally speaking things dont start to enter “reactable” range until around 24/5ish frames, give or take a couple if your reactions are godlike/slow

I imagine this basically:

Yeah, it’s crazy.

It’s technically 20 frames (cause NRS startup frames don’t include active frames), but when you subtract 4.4 frames of input delay, that’s 260ms to react (not including any controller, or monitor lag).

I did an online reaction test this morning and averaged like 225 ms, so I only got 35 ms (just more than 2 frames to spare), and couple that with any online lag and there’s no way in hell.

Plus, it’s not like you’re identifying it on frame 1 anyway.

I hate to sound like a scrub, but that move is broken.

The MK version of kids have it easy these days

It’s not broken it’s just a real ass overhead lol

Like @Volta said, you situationally deal with the move with a good fuzzy block. I say situationally bc a fuzzy will lose to cleverly varied timing but yeah

The real cheap shit is having an unreactable overhead and an unreactable low that hit on the same frame lol

I will have to practice the fuzzy guard timing. I haven’t done that yet… I just set the dummy to do the F2 string and the B3 string on another recording and was trying to react with a stand block for the F2, and got my ass whooped lol.
