Did he not lose his leg during a movie shoot? He DID do his own stunts.
**btw, the Intro was impressive for its time.

I liked Ehrgeiz, i thought it was cool because you can use the FFVII characters.
but I never heard of tobal, till now
Fuck the quest mode in Tobal it was good, but the best part about the game is the gameplay itself. First fighter to have 3d movement and the grapple system was the best ever in a fighter IMO.
Gren for life bitches!
Not quite…
From what I heard, the story goes that some time after the development of the second game, the developers behind the BBs were ready to stretch their wings and fly off some where else (re: leave Squaresoft).
However, Hell would freeze over before Squaresoft would let a team formerly under their leige to go off and actually be a successful. So, they were willing to allow them to leave…barring that they go by the contract that makes it so that the team could NEVER develop another game in the Bushido Blade series, OR anything like it.
So, with the original developers gone, and Squaresoft seemingly having no interest in ever revisting the franchise, the Bushido Blade series seemingly destined to sit on Square Enix’s shelf, and never see a proper sequel, while Soul Calibur continues being a multi-seller.
Bastards…this is right up there with them with-holding more Ogre Battle sequels from me! (Yes, they own Ogre Battle too…)
nope… battle arena toshinden had 3D movement
Don’t get it twisted.
didn’t capcom have somethin to do with the creation of battle arena?
Not quite. They liscensed the Arcade version if I am not mistaken. They also did this with DOA2. Is this not the SS fighter…oh sorry.
As for BB, it is enginuity. Period
i remember bushido blade, i got it as soon as it came out, that game was mad, chasing my friend through the whole level was a great memory, too bad i couldnt play link up on it since i never had a link cable
and tobal no.1 was underrated, when people actually played it they saw it was good tho, i liked the fact its the first 3d game to have the one leg sweeped animation
and ehrgeiz, um when i saw it on tv they showed a bit of it when it was at the arcade, i thought it was like the next step, but when i got it i saw how limited the fighting was, i enjoyed it tho and the ff7 characters were a huge bonus
wat i didn’t like about Bushido blade was it was a lil to realistic! I hit somebody in the fac e with the broad sword at the begging of the match and they juss melted and that was the end!
correct me then, cuz i obviously have it twisted
ooooooh he came at ur neck Saotome! lol anywayz I thought we were talkin about the games here!
I did, check what I quoted. =p BAT had rolls. They weren’t that useful as sidesteps, really. More like KoF rolls than a 3d sidestep. And considering that everything in that game tracked outside of fireballs…
aite, gotcha.
i wasn’t being sarcastic 1/2man1/2god
so was I. muhahaha
Shit, i remember Ergheiz. I remember getting it around the time i was going ape shit over squaresoft and their PUUURRRRTY FMV cutscenes :wow: . The intro was the shit(for it’s time), the music, while still done by corney ass squaresoft, was simply good enough.
Then i started playing it. And i gotta say, while it attempted some ideas, over all it played almost like shit. To block high and mid stuff you had to stand still, while you had to PRESS A BUTTON to duck. Whenever my friend was over, I usually MURC’D his ass either with cloud’s sword or just run and godhand shoot all day. Some characters were stupidly cheap. While it was fun for a few matches, shit got boring…fast.
Ironically, though, i must have spent more time with the mode where you were running around taking over the other player’s tiles(it was a rip-off from another board game, forgot the name though) then the actual fighting game engine. The quest mode was pretty cool though, if not a little tedious at times
How come Square Enix don’t make more fighters…could u imagine Final Fantasy XII graphis in a fighting game!
360 moves in ehrgeiz was near impossible. I’m no foreign to grapplers either.
Thank you for coming out but I stated this many posts back. haha
Shouldda seconded my motion
did square make DBGT Final Bout becuase it looks exactly like tobal with projectiles and flying!
