ummmmmm the bouncer is not a fighting game, it’s an action game! but if we were talkin about the adventure games Sqauresoft made that we should all love i would have to throw in FFVII: Dirge of Cerberus and Einhander.
Bushido Blade…ahhh…good times.
Tobal No. 1 Quest Mode is too good.
I wish I still had that game =(
<spelling police>
I haven’t seen EHRGEIZ spelled correctly at all in this thread.
</spelling police>
Ehrgeiz is hard to spell…wtf does it mean anywayz.I know dats not japanese.
It’s the German word for ambition.
I never played Bushido Blade or Ehrgeiz and the same goes for Tobal 1 … But I’ve Tobal 2 and it rocks, alone the thousends of monsters and shit to fight against with really huge fireballs.^^
Dammit… i really wasn’t gonna post out of the gd… but fuck it… Dudes… Did anyone ever actually play tobal in a vs mode? Yeah the quest mode ruled and all… but the throw/counter/reversal/reset shit was pretty fucking sweet…
What did Squaresoft do with the Germans? This must have their German year because Eihander was also a German name
Everyone is raving about Tobal’s quest mode whn Ehrgeiz had a better one. You could actually lvl up in Ehrgeiz’s quest mode
To be quite honest, I think Tobal 2 had a much better quest mode than both Tobal No.1 and Ehrgeiz. The game had more dept put into and more options as to what you can do with your character in that mode if you ask me.
As to what Aoishi, its true, Toriyama’s characters all look the same majority of the time and believe me, I hate DB/DBZ/DBGT but at least the characters in Tobal were better than some of his works (okay, not Chrono Trigger). But you have to admit to one thing though, Tobal No.1 and Tobal 2 were the about the actual first “True” 3D fighting games that gave you the freedom to do mostly anything you want (IE: Grab and drag your opponent into any kind of throw, move anywhere you want durin the fight within the given area, etc.) so I don’t think the Tobal series were that gawd awful as you stated them to be but then again, that’s your opinion.
Now that I think about it, why didn’t Squaresoft just put the CT characters in Tobal as cameo characters? I would have been in heaven if I was able to play as Magus in a fighting game for once. lol
Yea that’s all well and good but I still think Ehrgeiz is better bacuse the characters were really cool and it had more room to move around in the arena. With all that though wat makes it even better is squaresoft added the characters from FFVII except BARRET WALLACE; but i think dats only becuas Godhand had a gun arm and they didn’t wanna have a clone character like they have on Super Smash Bros. Example=GANONDORF & CAPTAIN FALCON!
Square is owned by Nazis (Sony)… Heh, anyway, I remember the ohh so deep gameplay of Tobal #2. Thank you Square for far exceeding my expectations of a fighting Chocobo. Not only could it peck, but scratch too, AMAZING! Ohh yeah, and Ehrgiez sucked, though I really wanted it to be good. BB was ok, thought I wasn’t too keen on one hit deaths, though shit is like that sometimes in life…
…anyone see the coincidence? The game(FF7) comes out on the same year Noctorious BIG past away and one of the characters has the same last name as BIG poppa. hahaha sorry unrelated topic.
I AM PRINCE DOZA! Namco must have created the Tae Kwon Do guy from the models they used from Baek in Tekken…
As for the hatred towards BB, it is quite understandable. The hit system was a great concept and realistic in a sense that there was no life bar to tell you when you were about to die. But this is its’ plus. The free roaming system was something you could not do in a 3D fighter until Soul Calibur came out (no?), but there was a well made concept here. Battles can go on forever if you knew where to go and how to run from your foes. The bandage thing…that was wierd. People are hunting you and you still have time to tend to your wounds? not likely. Choice of weapons and corresponding movements to them made the game unique.
…telling your friends that they can still kill you, while they were on one leg and one hand, by pressing select was a laugh… instant Seppuku plea. Sadly, you could not behead your foes, but the tech was not as good then.
I think Squaresoft stopped makin Bushido Blade cause it couldn’t compete with other fighters in which weapons were used such as…Samurai Showdown…Soul Blade…ummmmm u know wat i’m gettin at.
Tobal #1 was pimp. Too bad I couldn’t figure out how to do anything. I just spammed that robot dude’s axe kick. :tup:
tobal 2 is my favorite fighting game ever… gren, chuji, doc, and epon… too good… the old man, illgga, and mary were tight too
Why the hell did they change his name to Prince Naseem in the american version?
HOW COME THE TAE KWON DO GUY had missles in his knee?
Bushido 2 sucked. You couldn’t cripple ppl anymore. Hmm, still have Bushido 1 here though, time to play.
and yes, Tobal 2 was too good. Ehrgeiz… ehhh
