No, it just has it’s own section in the Marketplace. You can use MS points (2400 in this case) or a credit card. As far as the comparisons, IMO, in pretty much every department except for graphics (I prefer the hi-res 2D of the first game to the 3D of this one), this game surpasses the first. Great frantic scoring system, lots of cool stages and themes. It is a straight copy of the Japanese release, so none of the dialogue is translated (menus are in english though), but it’s not anything that should hinder your enjoyment of the game.

Damn. It’s been a long minute since I played most of these. Yeah, Mars Matrix is that shiznit and Giga wing 1 and 2 were just nuts out insane. I couldn’t help but let off with a bomb or two in that game. I still can’t handle gunbird though. Maybe that’s how I’ll spend tomorrow.

Kinda curious how you folks play your shooters. Start on easier difficulties and work your way up or can you just jump into higher difficulties right off the bat (including new games you haven’t played before)?
I’ve been jumping between games for so long I haven’t really made any progress in any of them and now that I’m focusing on Espgaluda II I realize just how bad I really am. I’m thinking that getting used to lower difficulties would only throw my game off more when I decide to kick it up a notch. Either way, I won’t be 1CCing or attempting any scores anytime soon.
I usually start with whatever the default arcade difficulty is.
^Pretty much this for me. beat it, 1cc, move up a difficulty if it has it, try to do the same there.

Even if you don’t beat it in 1cc, there’s nothing quite like reliving old afternoons in the arcade trying to beat a shmup.
quite true. Still, one of the best things I remember is on the game Carrier Airwing. Me and some randome stranger 1cc’ed that bitch at the SAME time. Looked staged as hell, but trust me. Never saw the guy before, never saw him again. Still, cool as all hell.
