sorry I missed this question before. the answer is they have an option where you set the universal (I.E. Every game will start with this control setup ) controls and there’s also an option where you can customize the controls for a particular game. for instance, I usually don’t use the D-pad for Afterburner, so I set it to the joystick. For most other shooters, it’s the D-pad. for the universal settings, just hit tab, go to player 1,2,3, whichever one you’re setting, and set them up. most times it’s pretty well set and you need only change buttons around. if you want to set for a particular game, go to…you guessed it, settings ( this game only ) and make the needed changes.
Hey for the uninformed, R-type Command is online multiplayer, not sure if it’s co-op or vs or both, but I know it’s there. So yeah to all getting it we need to play sometime
Main arcade in Osaka is so sick. All Cave black labels loaded up.
But I found an even better arcade down in a place called Kita-kyushu. Had tons of shmups, from most of the Cave series (even that Pretty Pink one or whatever), and also a Raiden, that Capcom danmaku shmup, 1945, and much more. It even had a ‘shmups skill test’ which was some sort of doujin shooter game which tests you in attacking, dodging, bomb use etc. and then gives you a rating. Pretty funny, I’d never seen it before.
Working on it. I would’ve grabbed it this coming weekend if my other computer didn’t die. Fucking SATA drives. great as long as they work, but you better get ready for empty pockets when it breaks.
Oh shit kids, check it out, my newly rotatable screen for shmups! Sorry about the shit cell phone pic.
If you’re interested I picked up this LCD arm in the electronics district at Osaka for about 75 bucks (there’s probably way cheaper ones out there). No company name on it, but most VESA-compatible arms will work with most monitors that have a removable plate in the back. I’m pretty stoked right now, shit is mad fun.
To clarify, my monitor is a 22" DELL, a pretty nice monitor, only problem is the input ports but that’s another conversation. To that I attached the arm which grips onto the back side of my desk.
Ah ok, so is it easy enough to find one of those screen arms or whatever? I don’t even know where to begin looking for that. Like what should I google for specicifically
damn. that IS nice though. 22" widescreens are about perfect for vertical shooters. big enough for the show, yet small enough to tilt over without the risk of breaking the screen…Or your back. but damn though. why didn’t I know Osaka was cool when I was there? akihabara? yep. got a pair of TV glasses that are still functioning perfectly to this very day. Osaka snuck up on me though. again, good find. Now go get yo’self shot!!
