The thing about Capcom is they never made a completely lame fighting game… they’ve made a lot of stuff that isn’t highlevel-worthy but nothing that was complete shit… except for maybe CFJ. Whatever game this is, it should be worth some casual playtime.

Look at how much money Capcom makes compared to SNKP and Sammy added together. Check their annual reports. IIRC for the 2005 financial year Capcom were only 1 of around 5 gaming companies that even pulled a profit at all in that period, due to a mini-slump (which people seemed to be calling the next video game crash, similar to the 1983 arcade crash, despite never getting close to being that bad).
Capcom know where the money is: it’s in mainstream rot. Same reason why EA and other half-wit companies are making squillions, while all the good companies producing quality indi stuff are just scraping by.
Making average crap for average morons might not be high on the job satisfaction list, but it sure as hell pays the bills.
