US/UM was realy bad.
Sun and Moon were ok, not good but ok.
What do you think of Gen 5? Black and White to be specific.

Gen 5 was amazing, and was the second best gem only behind 4 imo. All new Pokémon, the first game with a semblance of actual story, iirc the first game with multiple rivals. Shit was great.

Haven’t played them since their release year, so my memories are a bit murky.
Didn’t really like the 3D + Sprite mix, game is overall pretty good tho, it’s on my Top 5 of the franchise.

I’ve played this game Nutzlock randomizer and the first Pokemon I could catch was a Feraligator. The game itself knows how great the Totodile line is, making it the best Pokemon of all time.

It’s been on a severe decline since the 3DS.
Ngl, the Raid battles in SwSh made me decide to try and salvage that dumpster fire tho. Modding the shit out of it.
The official games are pretty much nothing but rombases tho, until they bring back their good level design (SwSh DLC at least looks promising on that end) and bring back Challenge Mode, the games are going to be basura.
Power creep has been on Card Game levels since Gen 5. Shit was outrageous to play in comp, damn near dropped the whole franchise.
GOAT Spinoff Stadium 2 reminded me why it’s so good tho.

Power creep got out of control in Gen 4. That was when they introduced a bunch of new evo’s for old Pokémon because they couldn’t keep up and when move design went down the shitter with stuff like Close Combat.
Also the best water starter is Greninja you heathens. However Totodile is literally one of the best Pokémon of his gen and the only Johto starter that isn’t trash.

Gen 4 had a bump, but it wasn’t out of control yet.
You need to remember that before Gen 4, several types had to run Hidden Power as their main attacks.
Grass, Bug, Flying, and even Dragon and Fighting to some extent were bottom of the barrel in terms of moves for a long, long time.
Gen 4 brought almost all types a reliable high power move so of course there was a bump, but it was more course correcting than Gen 5 giving us a ton of retarded mons for pretty much no reason.
The endless weather wars were disgusting to play too. Good thing that got nerfed.

Feraligatr was a cookie cutter water type. I can easily name 10 mons that straight up replace it in a team with no downsides.
