Man, new round robin ST tournament, same shit as last weekend. My AAs are waaaay too shoddy right now to play O.Sagat as well as I want to. Went 2-3 in the round robin today almost entirely because reaction AAing Blanka in ST requires you to be really on point, and two of the active players actually play Blanka.
I gave the best player in Norway a run for his money though, we had 3-4 rounds that were decided by pixels on timeout. He also flat out said he thought I’d be the second best active ST-player here once I get the rust off my AAs, which is quite the confidence boost tbfh.
How much lag does it add? Because I have no issues doing anything I need on any stage. Online or offline. It’s never felt any different to me than any other stage.
And why don’t tournament matches ONLY happen on The Grid if everything else is so laggy?
I don’t think i’ve ever played a lag-free online match on Lair of the four Kings, or whatever it’s called. When I’ve played lounges with people here, and someone picks a non-Grid stage, there is usually more noticeable lag than when we go back to the grid (it varies on the stage they pick).
This game is unoptimized as hell. It lags on a base PS4, offline, in training mode. Play online on a stage with ninjas doing cartwheels in the background and the game’s going to struggle that much more.
The only stage I’ve played that seems to be about as good as the grid is karin’s mansion during the day, which thankfully, is an awesome stage anyway, but to be safe, i always picked the grid when given the chance.
And it barely has anything in it, which helps, but even then, I noticed some slight extra sluggishness when playing against Bea compared to the Grid which has no effects at all.
Something about SFV syncing up any stage effects through the netcode even though it’s completely unnecessary.
So again, dudes are willing to actually compete on “laggy stages” but casual matches with Silver ranked peeps need to be “LOL GRID ERRY TIME”? Meh.
It doesn’t even feel like a frame of difference going back and forth between those stages. Like, I have never had a harder time with execution because of the stage. That’s why I’d like a more exact number on the input delay it adds because it seems hilariously minimal. Can’t tell you how many matches I’ve had and watched that were perfectly fine on those CPT stages.
Like, I’m not denying the other stages might add performance issues, but at least on PC anyway I have yet to have problems like that unless the other dude is on some garbage wifi.
I wish it had MK11’s netcode man. You can fight in an arena with a crowd cheering in the background, and people taming monsters the size of a two story building and shit is fine 98% of the time against a wired connection (which is shown to you).
Really?
Not just a more varied combat system, thanks to the Gen 4 Changes.
Vastly better graphics
The music was chefskiss (not as chefskiss as Gen 5s but close)
Your Pokemon actually followed you, what was cute.
Unlike the original GSC, it was not a total pushover (but Feraligator made the game a lot easier just by picking him)
Teambuilding is a lot easier.
Kanto was not a total joke before Blue
Your Phone and bag have both infinite space now.
The Safaria Zone is the best it has ever been.
The GSC Bugs are gone
I’ve played this game Nutzlock randomizer and the first Pokemon I could catch was a Feraligator. The game itself knows how great the Totodile line is, making it the best Pokemon of all time.
Lance has 3 Dragonites. Thats a Chad Teamcomp.
Everything you said is valid except this lol. I can let 2 of a kind slide but 3 is pretty blatant “we don’t have enough options to give him a varied team” territory.
I’m trying to grind through and finish the Vega combo thread but re-exploring this character has only affirmed my position that I’ll never seriously play this character again.
Is there a way to get different color text in discourse?
