Out of curiosity, how does a person go about using that hitbox hack for the sf2tj rom? I’ve tried different ideas but no hitboxes. Enlighten please.

had some great mirror matches with apoc a few weeks ago, that TAP assault is something else man 
couple games in and he’d got the dust off those 5 hit combos :wgrin: i need to work on making that j.HP/HK, st.LP, dash LK, st.LP, dash LK my main combo on dizzied opponents. but i’m liking the grimy cr.LK x2, st.LK, dash LK; then walk up throw :lovin:

I’ve had some problems since u need to use ‘experimental’ video mode, and Supercade doesn’t allow it. As described here:

You can apparently open the files in nFBA which does allow the experimental mode, but I can’t figure out how to just get the file from the Supercade site, rather than it auto replay in the program. Also, my monitor wont allow me to use 16bit colour in fullscreen mode, only 32bit. The guide recomends 16bit, tho i dont know if this is a requirement, or just recomended for better performance?

Ok Decoy has contacted me, pls can you guys make sure you get someone to record your matches if U use GGPO, if not just link to the Supercade replay. Also, I think a move to best of 5 for these final matches is suitable.
I’ve already been doing best of 5. Do you mean best of 7 for the finals only? Anyway, I only use Supercade now for HF. The desyncs are too annoying on GGPO.

btw does anyone want to play HF with me? I’ve played HF on ggpo and it seemed fine but if you wanna use supercade or something I’m cool with that. I’ve never used it but I don’t mind setting it up.
Well you can use HSF2, speed 1, HF charas only, thats what most have been doing.
I ‘was’ joking, seems the entrants took it seriously tho… See above method for playing stable HF on GGPO also

How difficult is it for people to matchmake and play their matches? Of do they just not give a fuck?
Well they don’t even have to matchmake, I’ve done that. While I do think its kinda funny that a tourney has lasted 1 year, I’m mostly dissapointed because I started the tourney with the intention of helping to build some momentum for the HF scene (into something like the vibrant C.E scene) and ultimately have regular online tournies like this one. The way things have panned out shows that there is no possibility of that happening…
It still makes me really dissapointed when I see how active C.E is online, it shows how much potential there is for HF, even among younger players. It would really help if Mame and GGPO fixed the technical issues also. Im sure that if alot of the people who played C.E saw that there was regular comp on HF (without desync etc issues), alot would switch over to unarguably the superior game…
Yeah, I don’t really see why CE gets play much at all anymore.

I think, like you said Crayfish, it’s the technical issues that have hurt the HF scene the most. Supercade is really the only place to play an emulated version of HF that runs properly. Problem is that very few people know this fact.
Personally, I’m trying to get on HF in Supercade more regularly now (usually late at night), and I know Poda is lurking on there just about 24/7. Even Damdai is rocking out HF lately, and I’ve seen some recent Old Mastah replays listed. So if you’re in the US and want some games, jump on Supercade. The connections are pretty decent if you stick to players in your home country. (Canada is close enough for us yanks :P)
