there’s another HUGE difference between CE and HF Guile, and that’s the landing frames on his flash kick. CE Guile’s landing frames for each strength are 3, 4, 6, whereas HF Guile’s are 10, 11, 13. that makes a difference of 7 frames, which is just slightly worse than the sonic boom nerf (5 more recovery frames). check for yourself at T.Akiba’s frame data page.
i also just noticed last night that HF is on GGPO. pretty awesome, though hilarious that they titled it “Hyper Edition”, lol.
Hey guys, this is probably my favorite version of SF2, but I need a little help:
Firstly, how can you break through the defense of this Sim player? (2DF replay)
http://2dfighter.com/freeplay/2DF%20FreePlay%20Client.application?replay=5/2008/326/1_7681_128717188575492500.2df&p1=damdai&p2=LVC
My mains are Dictator (CE), Claw (ST), ST shotos, and honda (Turbo and ST).
Another question: As CE Bison Dictator I had trouble breaking through an ST Guile. The only luck I had is when he whiffed. He was very good at prediction, and so I couldn’t scissor kick/psycho crush, or do the stomp, as he was able to predict really well. Any and all jump attacks/stomps would be met with a Flash Kick, and rarely could I get in a Scissor kick as it would be met with a kick-to-the-balls Sonic Boom.
Also, I couldn’t find this on Gamefaqs, but what are some combos for CE Dictator?
This is the Hyper Fighting thread not the Hyper SF2 thread.
Guys how about organising an evening or something once a week to meet up on GPPO and play HF? Obv we’ll have to be a little flexible on settling a time good for everyone around the world, but prolly best being a weekend or something. Anyone up for that?
Ultima, you were right, there is a single page showing CE dictators PC hitboxx, i dont have a scanner atm, ill try to get a photo of it or sometihng.
Btw, a very good UK player called Serpico has posted a little compilation video of online match highlights:

thats my Chun he’s CPS1 chaining at the strat btw…
am always in there anyways so am in
I’ve never played GPPO but I’ve been planning on playing some HF on the cpu when my joystick finally arrives, so, I’m in as soon as I get my joystick.
Damn dude, to defeat Damdai you gotta play like a pro. he is very damn good at Super turbo (and you havent seen his Gief, and Ryu) , but like somebody else said, this is Street fighter Hyper thread.
Old Japanese footage (not really HF, though):

In my opinion, HF is the best SF, with ST in a close second.
All good news guys.
Just played ‘SaDo’ on GGPO and he has informed me of a HF competition ‘on cabinet’, in Louisville, Kentucky USA on Saturday June 13th . So if any of you guys are residents of the ‘sout’, try to make it down if u can. A few oldschoolers will be there for some good comp. More details here:
after not playing this over time, need to refresh my memory on some stuff.
forgot how to juggle after grapple throw with sim and rog (glitch)
forgot exact command for guiles cuff throw or magic throw or whatever
kara mp into flash or something weird?
thanks.
Does that work in HF? I thought it was only CE.
Ha, it’s that Targest video. I loved the intro part of the tape where the guy dances to “Try to Star” in front of a big Gradius III poster.
The sim juggle glitch only works in ce.
and the cuff glitch SaDo mentioned works only in World Warrior (nobody plays that).
i think rog can glitch juggle in hf right? damn maybe that WAS champ edition
and i thought guile could cuff throw in any cps1.
the more you know!
We have a HF coinop machine is excellent condition at my work. I just recently replaced the joysticks and buttons. Happ competition sticks and convex Happ buttons.
If people are interested perhaps we can have a mini-tournament on the weekend or something. Our warehouse is located in San Jose, CA.
I want to learn Balrog as my secondary character since I think he’s cool and since he matches up well against Ryu. I like Ryu (my primary character) but it does get boring with all the Ryu vs Ryu match-ups. I can spice things up AND win if I get good with Balrog.
My question is this: When looking through the HF Balrog guide found on page one of this thread, I read that one should use the Sheng Shou Fang (Three Fist Method). Is this true? Did/do most of the top Balrog players use this method, or should I use a more “traditional/normal” finger positioning? I have no problem positioning my hands in the Sheng Shou Fang position, it’s just that I don’t want to start down a path only to learn that it’s wrong and have to start over in a different direction. Thanks in advance.
After playing around with him, I’m not sure if I’ll stick with him lol. Hard as hell and my skills from other chars don’t really transfer at all. I’d still be curious to see what you all say about him and I may end up using him after all.
Quick q - in hyperfight, is it possible for Guile to do jump heavy punch, standing heavy punch, jab somersault, or is the charge time too long on the somersault kick? I can’t do it for some reason. Anyone know? Thanks!
It is possible, but yeah, the timing is much stricter than in, say, CE.
