Whoa, thats really exciting. How do you get that to work?
I seen some of the old school acho matches of this game. It was tight. Chun-Li was beasting ppl.
You should try asking to NKI for a translation, because I couldn’t get it to work whit MAME and my HF pcb is not at my house at the moment.
If I’m right, you have to turn DIP A1 off, and C8 on, but there’s no way to turn DIP C8 on in MAME !:wasted:
I must be missing something…
Please reupload the GuangZhou tourney as mentioned in the first post.
Yes quite a few are just curious onlookers who happen to download the game out of nostalgia. However, if you are in my boat, you are stuck using the 360’s horrible d-pad when you are used to using a stick, and instead of just missing fireballs and dp’s constantly, you just start only doing moves you know you can land.
There are alternatives. I have a GoPodular arcade stick and it has served me very well. I also know of many players that use the 360 pad and are quite capable and some are excellent players. I’ve been playing HF on 360 from day 1 and I have seen many players up their game.
Any site/guide I can go too check up all the cross-overs for each character? I’ve seen so many weird cross-overs so I was wondering if there was any guide or something? I saw this video where daigo cross-over a st bison with his st ryu using fierce.
Update on the Hyper Fighting Online play situ. There is now a mIRC channel setup for P2P matchmaking, so now finaly getting to play correctly emulated, correct speed SF2 HF will be a piece of cake
1st get the Final Burn emulator here (the ‘only’ online capable emu to run HF speed correctly):
http://fba.emuunlim.com/?page_id=4
you want the 'Unicode binary ’ (1st link)
2nd get the P2P add-on here
http://kaillera.movsq.net/
Fantastic site, gives you Ur i.p and Ping ratings as well as very easy setup instructions.
3rd come and join the SRK Kaillera chat channel to organise some matches:

I’ll be in there whenever I can.
Crayfish.
Ehh that figures, I go to dl the HF video and it is no longer there.
HF n00b question: Don’t Vega and Bison suck? Relatively, I mean. Do they have any counter matches in their favor? I can’t imagine either being too bad, but I’ve heard so before.
I think it is agreed that they both aren’t nearly as good as their CE counterparts due to damage-nerfing which consequently left them having a hard time competing with the rest of the cast. I honestly haven’t seen many great players use Claw or Dic, but then again I am sorta NG. Many to this day agree that HF is the most balanced fighting game and that every character has a good chance. I do not know how true that claim is, but if it has some substance behind it, both characters shouldn’t suck as much as feel crippled by the likes of Guile and Ryu.
I hope that helped.
Both Claw and Dictator are pretty low tier in HF. They both have the favor in a match up against Guile, though.
Cool, I wonder if I’ll be able to play against the Americans.
I’ll try it later.
Yeah deffo give it a try. The other night I played a guy in Poland (one of those top online SF2 CE players who have thier ground game down COLD). He gave me such an ass whipping, but I didn’t mind coss it was a lag-free ass whipping. Not even any frameskip. Never once dropped below 50fps!!! Twas perfect.
I think other net progs may affect it, coss one time we chatted on mIRC and it got jumpy, so we re-started, didn’t chat on mIRC and it was perfect again for the duration of our matches!!
Only problem is how to chat, we were unable to chat in-game (messages didnt appear other end), and seems like external progs much up the connection. Small issue in the big picture tho.
Cmon guys get in the P2P channel
Crayfish.
I just got fba + HF + kaillera p2p + efnet mirc hooked up.
I messaged you crayfish. I’m not sure of how/what to do next. Someone want to walk me through games?
EDIT: So that was me who played you crayfish just now. GG. I’m still adjusting to pad. You’ll notice I don’t do any up balls with blanka, 95% of the time because I don’t trust myself to do them consistently. So there’s no decoy style gayness. Still though, I had fun, I liked being able to time blanka ball punishes on whiffed yoga flames. Something I could probably never do on any other online format.
Ok me and Callmeanewb just threw down accross the Atlantic, thats Ottawa Canada to the UK, Ottawa being little over the longitude of New York, and it was very playable!!! Just fantastic.
GGs Callmeanewb.
Crayfish.
I recently learned how to capture screenshots of hitboxes for HF.
I’m in process of making a guide for all characters & all moves.
It’s going to take a while to complete, but I can share some images here and there in the meantime.
Not to long ago, a buddy of mine pointed out that Ken’s Jumping Fierce was more likely to stuff out an opponent’s attack, as compared to Ryu’s Fierce. So I put this claim to the test and here’s what I got:
Demonstration of Ken and Ryu’s Jumping (diagonal) Fierce:

The RED box is the area that the character attacks.
The BLUE box is the area in which the character is vulnerable to being attacked.
As you can see, Ryu’s blue box overlaps more with the red.
This means that Ryu is more susceptible to being hit by an opponent’s attack.
wow. good job. Can’t wait too see other hit boxes. Most notably blanka’s j.rh
Nice job. I’m looking forward to it.
