The Razer Arcade Stick Thread!

I can´t find it anywhere, do you know any specific audio equipment with that type of conector?
Thanks

I believe it was @Darksakul who figured out what it was.

I don’t have a link now, I know it is a variation of the mini din connector used for audio equipment but whats the part number escapes me

Your better off replacing the connector with a standard USB or RJ45 connector

I did suggest a few replacements a few pages back

Near as I can tell, the connector on the One version of the Atrox is a 5-pin connector that you commonly see on CB radio microphones. This is the same connector as the MadCatz TE2 and MadCatz Pro and Razer Sabertooth gamepads I think. No idea if the pinout changes, however.

The square connector on the Atrox 360? No idea on that one.

Looks like this and this might work.

Almost everyone that I know had problems with their Atrox’s cable. One thing that I do and works all the time is buy a regular usb cable cut it and solder it with the Atrox’s connector cable.

You can always change the connector to regular USB or RJ45 like @Darksakul said.

Had to sell my PS3 SF IV TE Round 2 and get an Atrox becaue my new PC won’t recognize PS3 controllers at all. I am not sure if it’s just me but the top panel looks very ugly with that dull white plastic and the sanwa jlf makes very little hollow sound as well along with the normal click sounds? Can somebody please confirm this? I will post a short video showcasing the sound I am talking about but the JLF isn’t “totally” smooth, it has that hollow sound along with the clicking sound - kind of irritating to be honest.

You could have just replaced the PCB in your TE- would have been much cheaper, or at least probably less grief on your end. The difference in sounds is probably due to the open space inside the Atrox.

Researched about PCB for maybe six months. I am from India and the shipping + customs were proving to be a bit overpriced, plus I got a killer deal for my TE round 2 so decided to sell it and go for a new one. Although, there isn’t a single PCB which guarantees Windows compatibility - all just ask to load the X360 drivers and I didn’t want to leave it on luck this time. I think Atrox is the ONLY stick which guarantees it and bases their warranty on it.

With that said, I was able to use my TE Round 2 on my old PC but it always lagged probably coz it was a PS-native stick, so, didn’t want that as well

I don’t think there’s any reason to assume that a PS native stick would have extra lag, it’s just a generic driver.

I am not assuming. I started on PS3 with the TE round 2, and then moved to PC - a BIG difference! And I didn’t just have any board, but an Intel G41 chipset, so not a motherboard issue. On the same motherboard I tried out my new Atrox and guess what, it works much better!

The ones used in the TE2 and, I believe, the Atrox are 5-pin.

So, since I bought the atrox at 6 months ago I presumed that was on warranty, I contacted razer´s suport, that´s the answer from them:

“we are sorry but since the parts are sent out only based on availability, we have run out of them and we are unable to provide you with any at the moment.”

just lol, availability, Razer?seriously? Warranty means anything to you? If you sell a product with one or two years of warranty you have to have spare parts in stock.

Yep, that’s the same reason I still haven’t gotten a replacement cable for mine as well.

I just recently had an episode with razer in November. I accidentally crushed a part of the usb cord by closing the lid without securing the cord properly. Sucks, shit happens. So I go to razer and tell them I need a new cord and ask if I can pay for a new cord as it was ultimately my fuck up and don’t have a problem paying for a replacement cord. They told me pretty much exactly what they told you, that a replacement cord is on a “best they could do” basis only. Lo and behold, they don’t have an extra cord using a proprietary connector, sigh.

However, the razer csr told me that since the stick is under warranty to just rma it. I was a bit skeptical but sure i’ll give it a shot. Sure enough they send me the rma shipping slip and I send it in totally expecting my stick to come right back to me with them finding some reason to not complete the rma, but no, they replaced the entire stick. 200$ stick over what couldn’t be more than a 20$ usb cord. Go figure. Only took two months of back and forth.

I contacted the online store where I bought the stick, but since there are no razor´s office here in Portugal and they dont have it in stock anymore, they proposed me to send it back and get the money back, but as this was a great business, I preferred to stay with it. Had to pay the shipment(13€), the stick cost me 76€, less 13 € of postage would be 63 €, I preferred to stay with it anyway, it seemed better deal.

Razer really fucked up when they decided not to go with a standard USB jack like they did with the Beta version.

If it was their intent to have financial control over the cables then they should have had them in stock ready to ship to customers.

Actually, I think it was because we complained about the USB B cord in the Beta and how it could be easily pulled out.

Tek-innovation seems to be selling custom plexis for the Razer now, time to get rid of these button plugs!

My complaint was the USB jack could come out too easy from the PCB.
I am sure Razer still haven’t fix that issue.
