Where was the new Atrox variant announced?
I was going to say it was redundant to do another SF IV joystick at this point in time but as I remember I donât think Hori or Mad Catz have done a Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition joystick, either.
The art looks better than the first production Atrox for sureâŚ
Nice - But couldnât they have arranged the buttons out the same as every other licensed SFIV stick that has come out before it?! I know that you can just pop open the lid and rearrange them yourself, but still, the art label will be wrong. Call me picky, but those little details annoy me, lol.
I thought game publishers could override that âstandardâ Xbox licensed layout for the gameâs preferred control scheme?
Question for anyone whoâs stealth dual modded one of these things with a Cerebus. Is the PCB similar to that in in beta? (i.e. is stealth modding it done the same way?)
Is there a soldering/wiring guide to attach the Cerebus and other add-on PCBâs to the Atrox PCB?
I ask because although I can solder I donât necessarily know what each of those points does unless the Atrox has a convenient layout guide photo or labelled pin/solder points on itâŚ
Has anybody tried to make an Atrox multi-console (MC Cthulu) or would the Cerebus be more advisable? I know the Cerebus is the easier to install option.
Not that Iâm aware of, however a lot of the points are marked on the pcb itself. My recommendation - get a budget multimeter with an audible continuity test. Youâll thank me later.
IMO a Cerberus install is easier as despite needing to manually cut the board down you get blessed with things like LED support and auto-detect, plus it looks a Hell of a lot neater when hidden inside of the stock Atrox project box.
If going the MC Cthulhu route then Iâd also recommend installing an IMPv2. It wonât be the prettiest install and youâll need to work out what RJ45 solution will best work for you, but it is certainly viable.
If and when I eventually do get the Razer Atrox, I think Iâll stick to just the Cerebus. I donât think Iâll be using it as a retro stick. Iâll keep that purpose for the joysticks I rehab from the classic old days (1990s).
Gotta hand it to, Razer, though. They redefined what the standard joystick should be now. Now if theyâd only get their prices in line with the competition. I presume this is only the first generation of the Atrox theyâll release. (Still surprised they passed on a PS3 releaseâŚ) Theyâll probably revise the stick case before the eventual redesign of the next generation of systems.
I have enough Multi-Console joysticks and frankly am not using the older Sega systems to the extent I thought I would be. The MC version of the Cthulu simply isnât necessary for PC/Mac gaming, either. Way overkill. Itâs still the better option to the Cthulu if youâre going the PS3-only route. Five bucks extra for that much more system compatibility is worth 15 minutes extra worktime.
Being affiliated with Team EG works too, I think all the EG players have been sporting out the Atrox as well, noticeably EG PR Rog, he used to use his metal stick from KDiT, the same model as GamerBeeâs but he seemed to have a lot of problems with it in the past when I watched majors(I think there was an ongoing issue with the start button on the metal stick).
Hi everyone!
Just got the Razer Atrox but I really need to put the Spark Optical on it, and the Optical need 5v out from usb!
So can anybody here help me to find out where is it on the pcb? Since they are all in same color, no Red or BlackâŚ
I have the Final Release NOT the Beta Unit
Thanks
i just bought this stick and it doesnt work out of the box. I plugged it in in my laptop ( win7 64bit ). and the device manager said it cannot find the driver.
lol. i ran the ssf4:ae and tried controlling the menus using the stick, but it doesnt work. button config only shows two keyboard configurations.
Razer doesnât make any PS3 parts. Their president openly admits that he doesnât play PS3 enough to care about making parts for it, but he justifies it as saying that they wouldnât be making top-quality products if they didnât play the system the parts were made on.
These are the same people who released a great 360 pad thatâs known to commonly break down within a month.
But, hey, the stick looks nice enough. I donât usually dig the black and green, but the beta product looks pretty good.
isnât the evo standard ps3? for trying to set a higher standard for fightsticks i donât see how itâs beneficial to make it 360 only. and what did latif bring with him to evo?
This makes sense as how can you stand behind a product you do not use, we donât know if that the Xbox 360 is just their preference, their bias or there was an exclusivity contract made.
The Point is m00t as the Atrox is a rather easy stick to mod. The stick is second only teh Mad Catz TE series in terms of Dual Modding, and on equal ground in internal accessibility to Horiâs VLX.
The stick is easily dual-moddible with a Chimp or Chopped down Cerberus, and if soldering isnât your thing; a PCB like the PS360+ could be used.
Yes the Evo standard is the PS3, but the time that decision was made the Xbox 360 was notorious for high percentages of hardware failure (Red Ring of Death in a third to half of all consoles) and More importantly Sony is a sponsor of Evo. Why does EVO use PS3? Pay attention to Valarisâ and Mr Wizardâs Post)
