The Razer Arcade Stick Thread!

Does anyone know what parts are installed stock?
I’m having trouble finding the button diameter and the Joystick model, and I would like to be aware of them before I buy.

EDIT: Got a reply from Razer, if anyone wants the list I’ll post it.

It’s exactly the same as many other premium Sanwa sticks:

Joystick = JLF-TP-8YT-SK
Face buttons = OBSF-30
Side buttons = OBSF-24

Pretty much that’s the default configuration for premium mass market arcade sticks now days. The only question I have to ask is how reliable is their PCB.

I have the Beta version, and I have no issues with performance.

The stick is easy to open up and mod, and the Main PCB is held in by a few screws that is screwed into the honeycomb material on the bottom.
Worst case scenario, you replace the PCB. You wouldn’t even need to find new PCB mounts except for if you really want it some spacers to keep the PCB off the bottom of the stick.

Its one of the better outer shells I seen for a stick, to me a good outer shell outweighs any drawbacks from a PCB.

Just got my Atrox. Not gonna lie, it looks a bit relatively massive but it makes sense for what the insides provide which is neat.

Thanks for the advice Darksakul, so is reliable as cthulhu?

The Phantomnaut how was the box? is comparable with those from Mad Catz TE? did it came on transparent box as thise ones from mad catz?

I dream of a Noir Layout panel without the turbo/lock panels.

Its a Xbox 360 stick, so I have to compare it to a Xbox 360 PCB. Although I have done no “scientific tests” but my opinion is that the Razer Atrox is reliable as the Hori VX SA stick.

Good to know Darksakul so is in the category of the best ones for Xbox 360

Thats my opinion, it is in no way absolute fact

DAMN!!! That looks sexy!!! @mdsfx What model number/brand & size are the buttons? (Estimating sanwa, but seimitsu is a possibility)

@Mr. Mortified: Looks sick man! Are the LEDs red or orange? How much would that cost if I paid someone, with and without parts?

More Questions:
A.) Why did they put the bevel on the top and not the bottom? Has anyone had any issues with their arms hurting from the edges?
B.) While I have artistic talent, I am not pressed on having my own custom art just yet. However, I LOVE the art for the BETA version. Looks a thousand times better than the “Finished” Product. Should I wait until this Template contest is over to buy one? I doubt the BETA testers will part with the artwork.

What would an average price be to have one of these or any stick dual modded, coming from a 360 stick and adding the mod for PS3? I’ve never commissioned anyone to dual mod before. I’d want a really good PCB. I’m guessing either Cthulu or Cerberus.

OK this pic below won me over. Great convenience and the more responsive pcb over madcatz sticks.

Hello Phatomnaut,

Few questions about the Razer stick.

  1. How is the weight compared to the Madcatz TE and VS
  2. The anti slip pad located at the bottom of the stick. Is the material similar to a mouse pad or is it hard rubber?

Enjoyed your review by the way. Thanks!

I have the same problem with my PS360+ based stick. The interesting part is that the buttons work, but the stick directional inputs don’t. Is this the same result you’re getting?

Yes.

Maybe you need to put it in left stick mode?

Hey @Gummo, Phreak said you were going to let him borrow your Razer PCB, too, so I just shipped it to him after I was done with it. I threw in your power supply stuff, too, so let me know when you get all that. Also a mini-waifu and some Rilakuma tissues…

Yeah, I brought it to evo to hand it to him, but he left before I could give it to him. I look forward to the rest of the package.

Nope, already tested this myself. No go.

Brought my stick in today to look at this, turns out the issue is just that we don’t have a good default map for arcade sticks. I wasn’t aware of this at the time but you can remap the controller config under settings (Gear icon in big picture) -> controllers.
