They’re working on final revisions from the 200 Beta sticks they have sent out and I believe that Wrathchild has stated that they’re aiming for 2013 to release the final build.
From what I see from mine, pricing should be competitively priced similar to the TE stick and possibly no more than the VS stick.
Razer has gotten a lot of feedback, I’m grabbing one to see what kind of changes they make. Hopefully they’ll take in some feedback of releasing a PS3 and Wii U version since EVO is essentially powered by Sony and the Wii U looks to be playing catch up with this generation’s hit titles.
Yes, the invoice for the beta sticks lists a unit cost. Not sure if we can disclose this, but let’s just say that those $200 guesses are way over what the unit price (which I’m guessing is at zero or minimal markup) for the beta sticks is.
Interesting, although doubling and even tripling cost for MSRP isnt unheard of, depending on the type of product. I do hope your gut is right though. I think this stick at $150 would sell like hotcakes.
The worst part about this for me is that when i posted that i can’t wait to get one I got a pm from someone trying to sell me their beta because they don’t have a 360 and never use it.
i thought about buying it but i decided that’s a scummy move and I’m not going to pay near $200 for a beta.
Not to mention, it could have went to someone who would have modded it and actually provided feedback (me or anyone else who would use it).
IMO the person should be named and shamed for another key reason - applying for a precious beta place when they knew they weren’t able to put the stick to good use. What a waste.
$200 sounds the most realistic. It’s arguably got more features than a TE, which retails for $160. Razer’s stuff have never been cheap (in terms of price). Their cheapest mouse is $40 and it only rocks 3 buttons.
The $150 price point would be amazing though. That would definitely move units and contest the TE.
Just don’t arbitrarily charge Canadians $5-10 for the stick, please. Our dollar’s been either on parity or higher value, yet the Canadian Gameshark store charges us more. Doesn’t help that our tax is 13%…
I get it. But really, I don’t know the guys financial situation or what has led him to have to sell it.
Like, let’s just say for any reason he originally had an xbox and lost his job and had to sell it to pay rent. Now he has to try and sell this to make a car payment or whatever. If that were the case I’d feel pretty shitty as a person for putting him on blast because of it.
However, he could just be trying to pull a fast one and make some free money. I do see him post on tech talk a bit, so that really might be the case.
Unfortunately, I have no way to determine which is which so I’d rather not. Know what I mean?
