The Razer Arcade Stick Thread!

Beta Number 28 checking in here waay late. I have a suzo inductive ive been wanting to put in a stick, and it seems that it will barely fit if i use one of kowals custom balltop shafts. What would be the quickest and easiest way to hook this up? Can I use the 5 pin harness which connects to the jlf and just take out the ground wire, replace it with a red wire from any usb chord, then connect the ground (which i just took from the harness) to the 6th pin on the suzo? This would be my first time connecting a joystick which requires a seperate 5v power supply, any simple and quick ideas on how to connect the inductive to this razor beta stick? I’m hoping to avoid having to buy another board if possible…

Connected to the +5v point on the USB port for power, ground can be any ground point.
As for directionals, you looking at replacing or spicing that joystick harness or finding a harness adapter.
There is such an adapter on Paradise arcade .com

Yep, we noted comments on that too. Overall, we are making huge improvements to the build quality, rigidity of parts and improvements on finishing etc on the stick. And yes, of course, the closing and opening of the top panel is definitely being looked into.

One of the discussions that recently popped up was about re-assigning the turbo panel button assignments to correspond to the buttons if you swap them around. Currently, turbo panels come in a 4x2 layout to match the typical button layout, but that becomes puzzling when users swap buttons around or even change the layout.

Well, i know that the turbo buttons are actually detrimental to the user’s experience in most games, but still we want to cater to any possible scenario where a gamer might need it, so its another thing to think of.

A bit of a kludge but perhaps near the turbo panel, small lengths of solid wire and some female headers (sort of like a breadboard) could be used to rearrange the buttons in an easy-enough manner. I don’t have a Razer stick but I thought I’d give my $.02

The only time I’ve used the turbo function on the Razer stick is actually the first 10 minutes I got mine to test out how it works, I believe there’s two settings. Press the corresponding button on the turbo panel once for one speed, again for a faster setting then a third time to deactivate it. I don’t use turbo for fighters and lately the STGs/shmups I’ve been playing already have the rapid fire as a default control scheme were charge attacks are usually assigned as a different button but I can see where the Razer staff is coming from. Microsoft’s licensing makes all us Xbox 360 players either stick with their default layout where the turbo setting is fine but after the reconfiguration, there is no way in knowing which button corresponds to the new layout unless you kept the indicators on from the original plexi.

Can’t wait for the product to make comparisons to from the Beta testers’ model

Can we get a promise from Razer that this won’t have any of that ā€˜cloud based driver’ nonsense on PC?

Actually the turbo buttons are a 2 stage press, you press it down a little for slow turbo and press it down farther for fast turbo. You can actually feel the 2 separate click depths if you push gently.

Hey kedawa,

The Razer Arcade Stick will not run on the Synapse 2.0 platform - it will be detected and run natively on the PC.

That said, we’d like to address the matter of Synapse 2.0, in general. In spite of some misconceptions about the resource, it is not DRM or spyware, nor does it require a persistent internet connection - it is a data repository for user-designated settings and you can go into an offline mode anytime and stay there indefinitely. We are working on ways to further simplify and clarify that process.

Find out more about Synapse 2.0 from this statement we recently released here at https://www.facebook.com/minliangtan/posts/441476059243515.

I know this it’s about the Razer Arcade Stick. But Since this’s a $150/$200 Awesome Stick would be great to have a Awesome Box as well. Since a lot of us keep the Box to Store or Collect the Fightstick. Consider making a Solid Box but just big enough to fit The Arcade Stick on it. Hori fail in doing it, As you can see in the picture below I can’t stock Horis with my other sticks because the size of it plus it’s a very thin Cardboard. MadCatz TE/TE-S are so far the best looking one and MadCatz V.S it’s more solid allowing to Open and Close without getting Damage for a long period of time. So maybe a combination of both or something in between. I said that because the Box it’s as much important for a Collector.I hope you guys at Razer consider that. Thanks

Edit: This’s the Razer Beta Box right?

That’s the box the betas came in, but I’m sure they’ll pretty it up for release. Razer’s packaging tends to be pretty slick.

Just label or color code the turbo buttons.

oooh a detachable extra-panel with the turbo buttons would be sick! °o° you could unplug the wires, detach the panel and then plug in a blank faceplate. you’d have more space for you artwork and the turbobuttons would land in my wastebin! oooooh this would be awesome!

Thanks for addressing this. I just wanted to make sure any features available on the stick would be accessible in the future, regardless of whether I have an internet connection or if the service is discontinued.

Cant wait to get my other artwork thats been on hold for MONTHS LOL

Still waiting on my panels :frowning:

Sucks that I didn’t get chosen for the beta, but I am anxiously awaiting release so I can get my hands on one. May just get a fighting edge in the meantime to hold me over

Does soomeone have a good shot of the 6 ā€œscrew coversā€ on the top of the control panel? They look strange. Are they made of acyrlic?

Edit: upon further inspection they appear to be metal studs?

Metal carriage style bolts. Very similar to what Voltec uses in his VSHG customs.

They unscrew from underneath the lid, not the top.

God dammit i want this stick. Ive been waiting for it so long its practically turned into a myth. Still anxious to hear about price…

Yeah I’m also waiting for it as well. I am sure the price will easily be over 200.00.
