Don’t worry, the stick itself feels nice and tough. It has a nice substantial feel that I’ve gotten only from a few select sticks (TE, VS, modern Qanbas, the VLX, Astro bodied HRAPs).

Top panel itself is held in by 8 screws. Also, the mounting plate is bolted on, not welded unlike in a MCZ stick.

The plexi itself has the button labels printed on (not etched).

The artwork is printed on a glossy plastic film sheet. not regular paper.
Very clever design, the stick seems to allow easy swapping of the top panel without having to come into contact with the hinge or the hydraulic(or supporting arm), not sure why they decided to print the button indicators on the plexi itself. I like this stick already in terms of customization!
Is that metal panel powder coated or is it some kind of different material.

Are you able to take the turbo & home button panel off…or does it have to stay on there?

Turbo panel cannot be removed without voiding the warranty. But yeah, it’s just 4 screws securing the cover.

@d3v, is the button layout vewlix style? or is there a slight difference?
Waiting on my test unit to come in, but I’m WAY too excited to not know any specs.
Not sure how close it is to the Vewlix, but it’s definitely different from the layout MadCatz uses.

From the template and d3v’s picture, the layout of the Razer stick looks identical to TE(the size and placement of the turbo panel and should be universal Vewlix layout).
It’s not. For one it’s way wider. Almost as wide as a V.S. but taller. Turbo panel has different dimensions and is slightly bigger.
But the layout is standard Vewlix I’m assuming~
Yup, unless Razer is using standard shipping method, I’m expecting majority of us in North America will be seeing ours on the 10th of this month which is right after a local major in Toronto. There’s always Canada Cup and T13 for majors and the usual local casuals though
As stated, I haven’t checked if it is the actual Vewlix layout and not an approximation of it like in the MadCatz sticks.
EDIT:
Just checked Slagcoin. The layout in the Razer isn’t the exact Vewlix layout either. The last two buttons are slightly “lower” than the middle 4 unlike in the Vewlix where they are at the same distance from the top edge.
