The Razer Arcade Stick Thread!

MS Paint FTW!

that picture is wrong, you forgot the lightbulb on top of that 360

The best part of that picture has to be the top-hat. Well, that and the awesome button layout which must be a new standard I have yet to see.

That’s not Gummo. He’s not holding a Dremel.

Fixed

He must not have touched it yet since the wiring isn’t messy.

I am not sure if you are in charge of the shipping for the beta, but if you are, do you have an actual date of when they are going out?
I am only asking because my list for panels is almost full and I will be getting them cut soon and would love to add the razor panel to my current order but i dont want to put the order on hold for too long if it gets full before I receive the beta stick.

Dev forever going in on gummos wiring hahaha

Razer. Razer Razer Razer. C’mon y’all

edit: I gotta say I love the honeycomb btw. You can screw in one corner of a PCB for sure, can probably for most other PCBs turn them with a screw inserted and find another screw hole for the opposite corner. Really nice stuff.

Also because of the ā€œwarranty challengeā€ of keeping the warranty by doing ā€œanything but touching the PCBā€ (that’s how I see it), I’m trying to think of a dual mod without access to the PCB. What I have in mind is basically tapping the buttons with T-looking connectors with a .110 male QD on one end and a female QD on the other, same concept for the stick, getting +5V and dealing with USB has me stumped though, may have to use two cords for USB. edit: actually since USB runs out of the PCB and you don’t have to remove the PCB to cut and splice the USB cable ala the Kitty or Cerberus, I think that’s that…

I’m not ā€œinā€ but just thinking out loud.

The way I see it, they are being very generous with their warranty. You can pretty much aesthetically mod the shit out of it and still be covered.
Of course it is easy to just slice off off the usb cord and take the signals off the buttons and just wire everything to a breadboard and a dpdt/imp for dual mod capability but I think that should void the warranty. I think messing with the pcb in any way(usb cord, signals, etc) should void the warranty.
This is thinking from the companys standpoint, of course you or myself are not going to screw it up. The average consumer however might just do that. They might hear about being able to dual mod without voiding the warranty and then cut their usb cord off or something else and then realize that they cant get it back to working condition again and then decide to send it back to Razer. This would cost Razer a bunch of money. So I think the warranty should cover anything pcb related. Personally I see retail arcade sticks with sanwa/seimitsu or other arcade quality parts, warrantys as funny anyway because if I have a problem I can just go out and spend 20 bucks and be back up and gaming in no time. Maybe that is just me as I have voided every single retail arcade sticks warranty that I own in less than 20 minutes of owning them.

Yeah, that was my idea of a universal kitty standard that doesn’t need pcb harnesses, just custom wire harness. If you know its common, you could just have a joint male connector and daisy chain into female for signal + one ground for every button except home and have home as S+S=H…

I’m in and while I’m here, if you’re doing custom plate and plexi, would love to request a six button noir layout and plexi. If you’re just doing plexi cuts, then a 6 button vewlix style is just as good

A universal kitty mod would be awesome for the auto detect and the green LED indicators(on the turbo cluster).

That wont be a problem, if I get the stick next week and it is easy to measure and mount to the stick then I can get an art template out and get you and morti added to the current round but if I dont have it for another 2 to 3 weeks or it is hard to measure or mounts to the actual casing in some weird way then I will probably have to add you guys to the next round.

Oh and the 6 button noir is perhaps the most perfect stock layout that I have ever played on.

Sweet, Mort and I are located in the same city too. I’m on a roll as of late for templates accurately measured from the actual item(my Fighting Edge template is probably 98% spot) and if I get it done first night when I get the stick, I’ll pass you a PSD~

Thats cool, you guys can opt to go in together on the shipping so you dont have to pay as much as I believe you are both international.

ahhhhh…I’m so jelly!

Mine has come in.

Holy Sh** seriously, when did you get the email.

So excited!
Not sure if my eyes deceive me but I hope the plexi sits flush like the Fighting Edge(or even the metal TE replicate stick in my signature). I’ve played on too many TE and HRAP3/EX that the plexi sticking out has sorta gotten me annoyed.

The plexi sits flush… ish. There’s a slight edge that, if the screws are not tightened enough, can be felt.

EDIT: By the way, for anynone asking, US parts probably wont fit.

Sunday last week. Off course, this thing was shipped from Hong Kong (since it is made in China) which is a 2 hour flight from where I am.

Better warn my house mates to treat it as a fragile item incase they mistaken the box itself as a pair of shoes lol. If I still lived in HK, then I wouldn’t have to wait as long but Canada is probably gonna be at least a week’s wait since standard postage from Asia is usually 7 - 14 days unless it’s EMS which would cut it to 4 - 7 days.
