i like the beta just as it was. It would be nice if they offered a 6-button or 8-button top plate. I’m not really a fan of the rearranged versions a few posts back.
So when are we going to hear some updates about this product?

Ding-dong here… eager to hear more about this as well. I had forgot about this sticks existence. seems nothing has been shown of it at all as of late. I wonder why it’s not being put out there more with all the fighting games coming out. Hope it wasn’t swept under the rug.
Tried to get some info on Twitter. No such luck:

[S]@[/S]RazerStore When can we expect more info on the Razer Arcade Stick for Xbox 360?
RazerStore
[S]@[/S]mdsfx As soon as I do. Sorry but I don’t have a definite date for you on this.
didn’t they say there would be more info in january or something?
This thread has been such an anti-climax.

probably going to be vaporware.
It feels like they’re skipping the beta and just going to move onto production with feedback from players like Latif and anyone else they sign on.
Maybe I’m just a cynic, but I’d bet they think they already got all of the usable feedback from us from the pictures. After all of that feedback, does it make good business sense to send out 200*150=$30,000 retail worth of sticks when they already have most of the feedback they could want? Would that same money have a longer lasting effect by using it so Latif uses a black and green Viper when he plays? I do hope Im wrong but there was a lot of effort upfront that has just vanished.
Nah, if they weren’t going to, they wouldn’t have grabbed Latif.
Dear Fighting Game Community,
We have taken into consideration the initial feedback from the prototypes that we showed at the Tokyo Game Show in 2011 through this thread on Shoryuken.com as well as ongoing validation and feedback from some of our professional gamers including RZR|Latif, The Fighters Alliance and many more (to be announced shortly) – and we have arrived at the latest rev (Rev 12) of the community driven fighting stick design.

Some of the notable changes you can see on this latest prototype from the earlier TGS prototypes are:
• Acrylic top plate to cover customized artwork
• Gas strut to support the easy opening of the chassis for mods
• Honeycomb structure for easy dismount/mount of additional components throughout the bottom chassis
• Removable buttons, joystick, cable tray and screwdriver tray
• Increased height to 7cm / 2.8’’ to accommodate both Sanwa and Seimitsu joysticks and buttons
• Overall weight of the arcade stick around 3.4 kg / 7.5 lb
These are some of the changes that we have done for Rev 12 while there are more slated for the final unit after we have the initial validation done.
At this stage, we’d like to give everyone an update and to show the prototypes to get further feedback. If you think it’s good to go, we’ll do a prototype production run based off the current Rev 12 design and send out the sticks to the selected 200 beta testers within the next 2 months for additional validation. If not, we’ll go for another round of re-design and share the next update (Rev 13) accordingly. So let us know what you think!

I like how this thing is looking but all those features are probably going to come at a premium price.
Aw man! I like that the arm, lid, and hinges look more reinforced than the initial prototype. Also, the artwork looks pretty nice. Simple, but punchy.
I had posted my vote as a No because it really seemed like the stick was just going to be a TE with a few extras but I’d like to change my vote to a Yes after seeing the new stuff. It looks quite good even if it will be a bit pricey.
Looking forward to getting one !
How many people use the turbo? I don’t like it on sticks; don’t want ff ppl to have access to it and I think th extra buttons look too busy.
Looks pretty good to me
I only have questions about the connectors since I know that the usb type connector got switched.
Did the connectors to the buttons get replaced, or is it still the sanwa only button connectors?
Does the JLF use a real JST connector or the same solution as MCZ for connecting the joystick to the PCB?
I do like the improvements with the honeycomb for sure!
No more need for any zip tie anchors or hot glue~
Also that nice space in between the PCB and the other part in the front of the stick is still there
Still hoping that a neutrick RJ45 connector can fit in there, although there are other points on the stick that I can use too.
Acrylic top was also a nice touch!
changes look good; only personal and aesthetic preference is the previous flush top design, to prevent chaffing of my silky smooth forearms
I don’t mind those extra buttons up there. It’s not much different from the eight LEDs that the MCZ sticks have. Just a little raised and a little larger.
Dude, I was thinking the same thing and think that would be an amazing idea. A little inset into the lid so that the acrylic rests flush (or near flush if it will interfere with the lid’s structure).
I’ve got to say, I’m really loving the improvements. I liked the base already; now it’s even more beautiful from a modability perspective. The price tag probably won’t be pretty, but it’s looking to be a premium stick in every sense of the word; love it.
I do wonder about the USB jack – I like the idea of having a removable cord, but I fear for the internal connector if it’s mounted flush with any exterior side. The perfect scenario, to me, would be a jack in some sort of under-stick niche, such that the cord would protrude into a “protected” space, so the connector doesn’t get “leaned” on no matter how the user sets it down. Then a channel along the bottom to the rear of the stick, similar to how some keyboards are designed, and you’d have I just would hate to see players who don’t respect their hardware damaging the cord/connector by throwing it/setting it down so it lands on the connector. That type of strain has always been the problem with mounting a Neutrik jack on the back of a case, in my eyes.
The last prototype was sick, I’m really looking forward to TFA getting our hands on a finished version, Razer is going hard on this stick and the progress looks amazing! <3333
I would like to check it out and preview it for Lord Haunts.
