Although, it still reminds me too much of a TE stick so maybe they could put the turbo panel in the center and then flank it with the two removed buttons? Kinda like this…
Ok, then yeah, I don’t see why one company hasn’t done a stick that put the last two buttons on the side either. I mean, show of hands, who uses the flat angled six as their action buttons in SF on a Vewlix?
I can’t think of anyone who has done it. I’ve seen a couple on stream. But that’s it.
Hrmmmm… Applied… Don’t know if I can get it but it’s worth a try…
As a suggestion for the stick, I was wondering about the JLF mount on that thing, and wondering if we can have it removable so we can fit larger types of sticks into it instead, like Suzo-Happ sticks and the sort. I’d like to fit one of my Suzo-Happ sticks that I have laying around back home due to an old cabinet that I have stripped parts off of before I left.
Pic #2 looks like a truly unique top design that I would actually buy. The official design from Razer is just a TE clone as far as I’m concerned, and I’ve got enough TE sticks laying around.
I disagree.
During longer game sessions, I find that having Start on the front makes it less awkward if I’m hitting it constantly (e.g. to skip post-KO animations).
I’ve never been the one to accidentally hit the start button, and I’ve never been a fan of buttons on the sides or forward side of a stick. That said, It’d be awesome if they gave us the option to disable the start button on the face. Not because we’re scrubs and would keep hitting it by accident, but so we could use it as strategy to fake out our local competition.
At seasons beatings I recall seeing someone, on the big screen, hit the pause button twice during a first to five. He was using Marlin Pike’s Qanba. You may never normally hit the start button but it only has to happen once in a high stress situation to cost you a game/money. I just don’t see the point of introducing a face start button on a stick that was clearly designed to keep the face as clear as possible.
The Q2 had a bad Start placement, almost directly above the joystick.
The Q4 has same Start placement as HRAP V3/VX-SA — 1-2 inches away from the 4th row, so you would be flailing pretty wildly to hit it accidentally.
Again though: Skullgirls is fixing this in software; you’ll have to hold Start for 15f to pause (IIRC it is mandated by Sony & Microsoft that the player should be able to pause within that time).
Q4 I believe. Just consider that UMvC3 is introducing mashable supers, and it seems like a needless liability. I believe even Tatsu of team Hori, has his HRAP V3 modded with a switch to shut off start.
LT and RT on the sides, one on each side for Pinbal! And please dont imitate the TE with that flat top, go for a curved design to rest the palm!
Counter sunk hole buttons for start, select and home! Seimitsu LS-58-01 joystick for standard, enough of JLFs sticks!
Saw Latif hand over his stick to the J&J crew at SCR yesterday; dunno if they were modding it or just having a look at it, but thought it was pretty funny regardless.
