Razer in their right mind would not price it $150, that way too low for this stick. This is a business, companies aren’t gonna consider the FGC, they’ll price it however they feel is appropriate enough to make the profits they want. TE’s were $150 out the box new when HRAP SA’s were $120, This Razer has so many features over the TE that they’ll justify the price difference.
Razer is a premium company, they don’t believe they have to price to compete with Madcatz. Hori’s HRAP VLX sold like hotcakes when it came out, people will buy this at $200.
We are actually not detailing the final look of the button connectors just yet but they will work for both Sanwa and Seimitsu button types. We’re in the process of designing this with special focus on ease of use while maintaining flexibility.
I say eight, so that it will appeal to a larger crowd(I’d personally rather have 6), because you can always add plugs or swap the panel, it is more difficult to add buttons than to take them away.
I think it would set it apart to have six every stick now a days has eight. It could put it in the Top tier maybe be as good as the VSHG, if thats possible. It may not make any logical sense to have six over eight when you can just use button plugs.I don’t care what color you can now get button plugs in they are still ugly
It’s probably asking too much from a business perspective, though a 6 button top plate option would be appreciated. Even if it has to be ordered as an extra. Could even go the whole hog and make different button hole combinations to cover a wide range of games, like Mortal Kombat, SNK, Tekken, Virtua Fighter, Gradius, Speedball 2, etc.
Agree with the above - button plugs are just… kinda abominable.
I would like to see 6 button panel but I’d still want access to LB/LT as 24mm buttons on the side, but with Start/Back on one side and the gas strut on the other, there is no place where they could offer a side piece with those extra button holes or where you can drill your own holes. A Turbo/Home panel with LB/LT buttons would solve this problem.
I’d have to see it in person before I can make any judgements.
I put my application for the test run a month or more ago. I figure my experience in testing and providing feedback as well as having done my own mods/stick maintenance would help make me an ideal candidate.
