Any tips for the Dudley match up. Im not talking random online scrubby Dudley, I mean someone who knows how to use the character like Marn level shit. My friend is constantly blowing me up after round 1 and getting meter. Like he will burn 3-4 bars just to dizzy me in one combo, by the next round he has enough meter to eventually do it not to long in the round.
I have no problem with other Dudley’s but its this one effing combo that just sucks. I know once he is in, its really hard to get him out, any help?
dont try to fight him up close the whole match. Dudley will destroy you there. Literally ALL of your normals stuff everything he has from their effective distances. Soul Piede, Soul Spiral, st.hk, cr.mp, slide beats ducking and all of your low attacks beat machine gun blow. Cr. hp beats all of his jump ins. Dont get cornered. You can activate U2 and punish a blocked HP or EX machine gun blow. To get out, backdash.
ive literally slid and stuffed dudley’s U1 lol never knew about that before. as for seth, shits fuckin annoying chasing after them back n forth, every chance he gets, he’ll jump away. Just be sure to see that every time he neutral jumps or back jumps, cr.hp his jump fierces. I dont know how to deal with his roundhouse dive kick, i dont like the trade with cr.hp, jumping early with hp doesnt do the trick. perhaps focusing? ill try that. maybe metroxylon if he sees this post he can help further since i believe seth is his alternate.
In Rose vs. Dudley, you shouldn’t let him get close. You can use her normals to constantly keep him out. Since Dudley doesn’t have a projectile to work with, he has to get within close-range to get damage in. As for Rose vs. Seth, I don’t know about that match-up. I would guess that you would have to play patiently in this match-up, sort of in the Rose vs. Dhalsim match-up. Then again, he has a command grab, a wall jump, and a better projectile.
As long as the dive isn’t used in a safe jump, your best answer is probably soul throw. I believe you don’t even need EX.
Focus attack isn’t that good since Rose gets low to the ground meaning you’ll catch him late in the dive, meaning he’ll probably be at neutral frames by the time the attack comes out. But you can counter-hit/crumple him if he tries to jab when you attempt focus attack on his dive. Just know he can probably grab/SPD/SRK or ultra you and not suffer any scaling. It’s just kind of unreliable. Focus backdash is probably better since Seth would probably have to read it in order to punish.
Once I get my new stick (hopefully soon), we can do a set.
I consider this a zone vs zone match, but this doesn’t mean play on D the whole time, or even most of the time. Whatever ultra Seth picks kind of allows you one tool while taking away another. Like if he picks U2, you can throw fireballs, but Seth’s wall jump pretty much nullifies the point if you get obvious with them.
And one wall jump can put you in the corner and/or a moment of chaos that Rose doesn’t really have any good answer for. When Seth is on you, your guess is as good as mine for what to do. Just don’t let him get on that tandem pressure. Take an uppercut when you jump, or block everything and take an SPD (at worst). You WILL need U2 in this match.
Soooo the juri matchup…I need a little help. My main problem is that rose loses this fireball war. Aside from the aforementioned problem I’m not entirely sure how to go about into footsies range with her much less beating her pokes and fireballs. This ends with me, in the corner, getting pressured to death. So any tips
You shouldn’t have to play the fireball game at all with Juri considering you can reflect them back or absorb for meter. You really have nothing to be afraid of from Juri as Rose’s pokes are much better than Juri’s pokes. If they’re fireball happy, MP reflect and follow after it to close the distance. HP reflect if they try to approach you via air.
cr.HP beats everything Juri does in the air except her j.Fierce. (or whatever the untechable knockdown normal is.). I wouldn’t bother trying to punish her dive kick on reaction. Just block and punish. Watch out for Kara throws and her overhead when she’s in your face trying to do mixups.
Juri’s pokes are on par with roses I promise. But the reflect can be difficult unless your at her Max fireball range as she can dash and throw another fireball for a punish…it might just be that I need to improve my rose front to back(definitely) but this match feels alot harder than you let on
It really boils down to how well you know Juri and matchup experience. once she’s knocked down, you don’t have anything to worry about outside of EX Pinwheel (which sucks as it at best trades for 1 hit if you cross her up.) and command counter. As for the fireball thing, that’s more on paying attention how many the opponent stores. If she’s throwing another one out while you’re moving in, you should be ready to react with a reflect. She can’t really zone you with her fireballs when you also have slow fireballs and a reflect. She’s going to have to come towards you most of the match.
I’ve thought about this a lot since yesterday’s match against MarlinPie, but what Ultra is better to use against Cammy in this match-up? U1, or U2? When I mention Cammy, I mean the skilled Cammy players.
U2 to get her off your back. once a good cammy is on you, you’ve pretty much lost.
