I still don’t have enough sim experience to really say much on the match. It’s one of the few i’m also trying to find more info and try stuff out on what works best.
Dhalsim vs. Rose can be a pretty tough match for Rose, especially if you are not very patient in this match-up. I tend to become impatient sometimes, and I find myself jumping toward him. It’s generally bad to approach him because he could simply anti-air you, and you’ll end up being right back to where you started. Try making him approach you instead. If you are throwing out Soul Sparks, be wary of his teleport, as he will punish you. As for the preferred option of Ultra, U1 and U2 both work. If you’re facing a Dhalsim player that does a lot of unsafe moves, or is reliant on his slide, go for U1. If you want him to stop pressuring you with moves such as jumping fierce, go with U2.
U1 also stops him from doing Yoga Catastrophe after teched throws.
Either ultra works, but imo U1 is the one for the match up because U2 gets canceled so easily and it’s not like he’s gonna go off getting close and pressuring you in the corner or on wake up or something lol
U2 is much better than U1 vs Dhalsim. If used correctly, it gets you in for free.
What I like doing is standing outside of his FP range, wait for the jab fireball. When he throws it, I activate orbs and reflect the fireball back at him and follow it in. His only real option here is to EX fireball.
Sims have to start going to Fierce Punch fireball in order to counteract the reflecting which kind of lessens the Fireball… wait and see game. You can definitely focus backdash the FP fireballs.
Once inside, it’s really block string field day. mix in throw/ Cl.MK mixups, to strings ending in EX fireballs or HK drills.
His only punish is 3 Frame B+LK, which can’t combo into anything but super. Certainly doesn’t get him out of dodge.
b lk is fucking amazing as Dhalsim.
IMO, if you’re out of fp range, you’re winning the match up.
If U1 is used correctly, it puts you in a fairly advantageous position and there’s a lot of shit that he has to refrain from doing such as random teleports (if you’re good at Auto Correcting Ultra) Yogasnipers, etc etc.
U1 forces him to play safe, but U2 can be baited out etc etc. and then you’re put back into the position you started in.
U1, if hit, takes away 5/9ths of Dhalsim’s health.
Yeah, U2 doesn’t seem that helpful, especially if the Dhalsim is wary of it. If he baits it out, you’re no better than where you started, you activate it too far away, he throws out a limb for at the very least a trade, and again, position resets in his favor. It doesn’t seem particularly helpful unless you’re inside on the first place, or you catch a j.FP attempt from him where it knocks him from the sky giving you the chance to get in.
I’d rather use U1 where it forces a bit more safe and cautious play from the Sim which gives me a better probability on getting in at him.
Who’s using U2 as a wakeup reversal option against sim? I’m saying Ultra, then reflect his fireball or throw one of you own and FADC it, and then just walk in. You’d be surprised how successful this can be.
Rose wins this match like every other character beats Dhalsim, cornering him and putting him in the space where your buttons beat his.
Sim “baiting it out” does nothing b/c then it’s on you for 12 seconds and you walk him to the corner.
It also prevents him from teleporting behind you when you reflect or throw fireballs.
If he’s in the corner, there’s literally nothing he can do while they’re spinning, leading to free chippies with sparks and drills.
oh, and another post just to point out that Ultra 1 sucks.
I don’t bother with U1 in this match. Just cause I don’t want Sim getting free teleport setups or trying to escape the corner with a teleport.
It entirely depends on how you intend on using your Ultra, and how your opponent plays Dhalsim. In some circumstances, U1 may be the preferred Ultra of choice, while in others, it may be U2. It can go either way.
You mean the ultra you’re going to have to use when AE drops? Oh wait, that’s right, you’re dropping Rose.
you mean the ultra you have to use also? oh wait, that’s right, you’re dropping Rose too.
No, I already know I’m not going to be good enough to be relevant, so switching characters due to nerfs isn’t in my book.
funny how Renegade is only trying to help people like you out yet he gets bashed?
If Renegade said that he is dropping Rose after the U2 nerf, that is completely his choice, and everyone has their own preferences as to which characters they want to play. Is there any match-up that hasn’t really been discussed as of yet? (i.e. Rose vs. Cody, etc.?) I think a lot of her tougher match-ups have been discussed, but what about some of her easier match-ups?
I still am at a loss with the Honda matchup as that’s one of the few bad matchups that hasn’t really been discussed thoroughly.
I’m not good enough to be worthy of being helped on in the first place. He wants to waste his time with me, that’s his problem.
your wording is just horrible. Your not worthy of being helped? Just what are you doing in the rose sub forums then?
It’s like you’re setting yourself up to not learn.
I try to learn, but at this point in time, i’ve realized no matter what I do, I’m just going to be terrible. It’s just the way it is, and I’d rather not have anyone else waste their time trying to teach someone that would just waste the knowledge when they can teach people with true potential.
What am I doing here? I use the character, I might as well be here. But I should indeed stop posting. I’m doing no good to anyone else.
I don’t understand. You are only limiting your potential, and ultimately hindering your own progress. There is a plethora of information here, and you could very well use it to your advantage. If you are going to have low self-esteem, that is only going to hurt you in the long run, and I’ve felt that way in the past. Optimism is the way to go.
