I’ve been working on setups for this. So far the ONLY way I can get this to work without X factor and DHC’s is with Dante’s Crystal assist…
So basically Ground series >> Air series (delay your air hits as much as possible) After the Air S. Land and Call Dante immediately. Just as you call Dante, do the correctly spaced Typhoon (whichever one will hit depending on where they land) Crystal will pop them up into typhoon. RIGHT after you use typhoon go into Hailstorm. This should hit them at the top of the typhoon giving you plenty of time to elemental rage as they are falling.
Hidden Missiles work as well. just do a slide style input from S to the assist doom is on, MMHS, start typhoon, and cancel into Hail as soon as Typhoon is active. Nice to have some real uses for Typhoon. It also works on incoming characters who think they can hit a button while you charge up for Typhoon.
Specifically: c:l:-c:m:-c:h:-:s::a1:(Hidden Missiles):u:---:h:-:s: Double Typhoon xx Hail Storm, Elemental Rage is 671k. Obviously more can be done before the launch, but the air combo pretty much needs to be MMHS with Hidden Missiles. Crystal will likely work off an air throw though.
I had a question about the fly loop. What is the easiest/ most lenient version of setting it up? I play online and my execution is not very good at all. Like to set up should I be doing j.H, ADF, j.L, j.H, loop or j.H, ADF, j.M, j.H, loop? Any other tips would be appreciated.
the easiest way to do the air dash loop is by simply canceling sj.:h: into fly then sj.:l::h: then either airdash upforward the second time or upforward the first if you don’t want to drop the sj.:s:. If you didn’t airdash up-forward the first time do it the second time and you can get 4 :h:'s in before you send them to the ground. Sometimes doing sj.:h: ADF:h: whiffs on small targets so just do 1 :h: into fly to be safe.
-BTW I see you guys are interested in double typhoon. I’ll post a practical combos up where you can use this to link hail storm with E. Rage for those of you who don’t want to do the DHC trick.

Can anyone tell me how to me to land the M after the adf xx j.S. The opponent always recovers before I can hit them.
Most consistent and strongest are typically 2 different combos, depending on your execution. I try to keep 2 combos: a “safe” one that I will never drop and a “risk” one that’s more powerful but not 100% consistent for me. Just progress your BnB. Here’s how my Storm BnB progressed as an example.
Initially my safe BnB was:
c.:l:c.c.:h::s:, (sj.) :h::s:, (land) Hailstorm
and my risk BnB was:
c.:l:c.c.:h:, (jc.) :h:, (land) s.c.:h::s:, (sj.) :h::s: (land) Hailstorm
Then it grew to:
Safe BnB: c.:l:c.c.:h:,(jc.) j.:h:, (land) s.c.:h::s:, (sj.) j.:h::s: (land) Hailstorm
Risk BnB: c.:l:c.c.:h:, (jc.) j. :h:, (land) s.c.:h:, (jc.) j.:h: adf j.:h:, (land) s.:s:, (sj.) j.:h::s: (land) Hailstorm
Perfect! You’ve improved your BnB quite significantly, I like that. I’ll certainly practice the Safe one, and yes with Storm, I like to to do the safe BnB since her damage is somewhat low.
does Drowsy22’s final “risk” combo build one meter? I have the tendency to stick to storm’s H airdash H fly combo because of its damage output but it only seems to build 3/4 of a whole meter, which doesn’t really help me with starting out on point for dhc trick set ups
I mentioned something about this in another thread, but it seems appropriate to ask about here: I find that any time I land an assist (in this case 80% drones, 20% cold star), my Storm combo always drops before the launch. And I’m even talking basic ABCD, even shortened to just, like, cMS. And the combo counter always restarts before launch! If I wait till the drones finish hitting then hit S, they don’t get launched all the way up! It’s the weirdest thing. Anyone have any idea what’s going on, and how I can get someone up in the air for launch if drones (and to a lesser extent cold star) hit?? Thanks!
Uh… I just got the game, not really into the competitive scene anymore due to work and shit. But for some reason I can’t even do this stupid combo…
stand LIGHT, stand MEDIUM, stand HEAVY, into crouch/stand SPECIAL. This next part is where I fuck up. Once I launch the comp up and do Medium, Medium I always miss the 2nd medium… WTF. >:(. In mvc2, combos were cake. In this fucking game, combos are fucking weird for a newb like me.
If I recall correctly, it builds almost exactly 1 meter; a little more if you start with an overhead.
Edit: Just so it doesn’t seem like I’m taking credit for anything, it’s a fairly standard combo and I’m in no way responsible for its creation.
Storm’s combos are weird, especially her air normals. If you’re using the standard LMHS (sj.) MMHS, you have to delay your super jump after the launch for the air portion to connect properly. I would highly suggest moving to her next simplest BnB immediately to just eliminate that problem altogether.
Sorta depends on the situation, but I think st.M causes more pushback than cr.M so I find cr.M more reliable for hitconfirms. Blockconfirms are a different story.
I use the same final combo as drowsy except after the adf j.H when you do the ground s.MS, I add in a st.H. That way it builds 1 meter if I start off with cr.LMH for DHC glitch.
