god damn MVC2
Hey all I’ve got some questions about progressing Storm’s BnB.
So I started with this:
cr.:l:cr.cr.:h::s: (sj.) :h::s: (land) Hailstorm
Then I progressed to this:
cr.:l:st.cr.:h: (jc.) :h: (land) st.cr.:h::s: (sj.) :h::s: (land) Hailstorm
So I’m wondering about a few things…
1.) During the initial jump cancel off cr.:h:, is there a difference (aside from raw damage) between jc. :h: and jc. :s:?
2.) During the final part of the combo after the launcher, is it always possible to get 2 's or better to stick to just 1?
3.) How would you recommend advancing her BnB further? I want to keep it reliable/consistent yet effective.
Edit: @ Mr. Nannie - Who have you been using as an OTG assist with Storm? Have you found it to be worthwhile?
I use Wesker and Sent for it. Its only worth it because it builds more meter, but you cant add any of the jump cancel loops, or your opp will tech out of the combo because of hitstun deterioration.
The difference between j:m::h: and j:m::s: is that j:h: does more damage and has more hitstun.
And during Storms air combos stick with one j:m: unless your going to do something with air dashes or flight combos.

Check out that mashing on the Storm flight combo! I suppose I could use a different Storm sequence in that first one to build more meter.

usually, i’ll try to go for dhc trick if i have it available
i’ll bet there’s more damaging loops, but this one is the one i’m most consistent with, the first LA always hits so the rest of the combo flows like water
plus it looks pretty sweet
Does storm have any aerial tag combos? Like if I tagged from wolverine into her?

After exchange to Storm I usually just use j.H, j.S, land, super (and in your case DHC glitch back to Wolverine!). I don’t honestly know if there is much else. Now I’m scratchin’ my head…
I have a question. I’m trying to do this combo
cr.L, cr.M, cr.H, Jump cancel , j.M, j.M, j.S, Land, H, cr.H, Jump Cancel, j.H, j.S, Air Dash Forward, j.H, Land, M, H, S, Super Jump Cancel, M, H, S, Hail Storm.
On the transition from this part ( j.H, j.S, Air Dash Forward, j.H, Land, M ). I land, but they recover from block stun too quickly to make use of the M, should I switch up the combo or does this combo just not work?
The combo does indeed work, you’ll have to keep going at it until you get it right.
does storm have any combos that give 1 meter that start from a crouching L?

Im at work right now but im pretty sure you can do it with out flight as well.

that combo should get you a bar.
But I know you can get at least 0.75bars from the BNB:

Fly Combo:
AE (Storm enter) j:h: xx Fly j:l:(j:h: adf j:h:)x3 j:s: and if you have wolvie then def to a E.Rage DHC B.Charge if you have the meter and your opp has enuf health left to justify it.
Regarding Air Grabs:
How are you guys comboing out of your air throws.
If I have 2 bars and 2 characters then its a no brainer that I will land, OTG with E. Rage DHC accordingly.
But if I have less than 2 bars, Storm is left alone, or I want to build meter; there is something I saw DarkHokage do, in the vid thread, thats pretty sweet.
Air Throw, :l:Air Double Typhoon, :uf:LA x3 xx Lighting Storm (sometimes direction of LA must be adjusted, depending on height of air throw)
if you skip the Lightning Storm hyper then you get to build some meter, and you will land before your opp.
At this point it seems way to easy to land a cr:h: etc combo before your opp even hits the ground, its not a combo but they just seem to air tech into your lap and get beat out by the alot.
Ah, I just always assumed HSD would make it impossible to fly combo off of AE. I never thought to try it.
Also, I think it’s weird, but I can’t fly combo off of a naked Mighty Smash assist then launch, but I can fly combo off of something with more hits like Berserker Barrage assist. What gives?
I think I am dropping Thor for Dormammu soon anyways. Who needs DHC glitches? Still have Storm/Doom DHC glitch but not planning to run that team order.
Hey, using Storm/Wekser, i have some kind of desire to get 1 bar from every situation (for the dhc glitch).
so for bnb i use something simple (j.m j.m j.h land j.h adf j.h versions).
in the end adding wesker otg S ^ j.h j.s hail just to add the last meter.
The problem starting when i hit to far, or even just random S into superjump launch, air combo, land, wesker otg mini combo to launch.
the problem is that in the end, this combo won’t get the 1 additional meter, any ideas how to expand it to get 1 full metter?
(from something like S ^ j.B j.C j.S land assist wesker).
Would be appreciated.
Thanks to Lud’s recent discovery, you can add Chun to the list of DHC glitch partners for Storm. You need to do it like with Taskmaster by E.Raging slightly off the ground then DHC into Hoyoukusen. The first few kicks will miss, but the rest hit and allow you to combo into w/e air series you want. You can build a ton of meter off this too by doing after the launcher: sj. :d:+:m: :d:+:m: :h: xx Legs H, (double jump), :h: xx Legs H, (triple jump), :h: xx Legs H, :s:.
Per Smexy Millz’ recommendation, I’m working on the fly combo cLMHS launch sj H xx fly LM(H adf) x3 HS. And I am having the damndest time consistently getting the jL after I activate fly. Any advice? Like, do I want to jH immediately upon launching, or one of those delay the jump, delay the hit kind of jHs?
Also I saw in a video Smexy also did this with, after launch, sjMMH xx fly. Anyone know if one way is preferable (read; easier) to the other? I asked Smexy this as well so if he answers definitively I’ll edit with the answer. Thanks all!
wait, why you can do 3 ad in combo? (is it fly property?)
I dunno the nuts and bolts of how it works engine-wise, but like Magneto, yes, she can go into fly then hit a few H adf H adf H etc
Basically, from my experience, you want to wait as long as you think you can for the L after you fly. It’s really not too hard but if you hit L too early than it’s going to fail. Just try to think of it more like a Street Fighter link and be sure your pause after flight is long enough. It doesn’t take much practice to get it down, just keep at it! But why do j.LMH after the fly? You can do more adf H if you cut the M out. I just do fly, j.L, (j.H adf) x 4 j.H, j.S. This way is not only easier (in my opinion anyway), but you’re getting 5 j.H after flight.
As far as when you hit them after launch, it doesn’t seem to matter much for most characters, so focus more on the j.H xx fly ~ j.L link. You can do it really early after launch or you can let them get higher up. Against Zero and probably Ammy (and other very small characters) though, you should try to do it earlier after you launch. Ammy because she’s so small, and Zero because he seems to pop up higher after each hit, or has a strange hittable box(?), and Storm likes to go under him if you let him get too high after the launch.
