if you check the storm combo thread 1st post I have some examples posted there as well as explainations pertaining to how you can make it work posted somewhere in this thread.
In short you need, to juggle your opp into the E.Rage. Something like cr:h:xx E.Rage DHC A.Counter cr:l: etc. is the simplest version. But its not the easiest link in the world

yehhh i have jsut worked it out, i noticed if u just E.Rage off the flood they are too low, so u have to do the juggle. I am finding it abit difficult to do the up up H/S mid combo, seems really important if i want a task/storm team.

did manage to do with with just c.L, c.M, c.H, j, M, M, H, st H, c.H superjump H adf H land M, H - E.Rage to task,

But it builds just under 1 bar which is anoying :frowning:

Which characters can Storm DHC trick to from an OTG ERage as opposed to needing them to bounce? Like, I know OTG works into Wolverine and Sent (except the 4 characters Andy specified), and that they need to be airborn for Taskmaster. Anyone know off the top of their head? I’m mostly asking because I like the idea of arial tagging into Storm then DHC-ing. Seems like it works for Dante OTG but wanna be sure. Thanks!

Ive never done it with these characters, but I can see it working with Arthur even if he has to use an assist or self OTG.
IDK about Hsien and Joes options to OTG of how fast they recover after these Hypers.

Yo storm fans! I’ve been trying to pick her up to learn, and I’ve hit a rough patch. Now, I didn’t play MvC2 at all, so idk any of the old school tricks or habits. I’m essentially starting from scratch.

What I’ve been trying to do is her air juggle to the corner. I know flight and dashing is involved, but that’s all really. There’s a ft10 match on ehubs between Yipes and Jago, and in the first 5, they didn’t use their mains. Yipes used Storm, and there was an instance where he carried a character (Jago’s Mags, I believe) from one end to the other almost like Magneto would do. I wanna know how to do this, no matter the degree of difficulty.

I’d link the match, but my connection here is ass, so it’d take forever. But I’ll peek at the match later and see if I can find it anyway. If so, I’ll link it then.

This is extremely helpful, but not exactly what I’m talking about. There’s a downward element. Storm would hit and dash downward and come back upward. This would happen once they were walked to the corner, though.

I think you just might be talking about the ‘SWAG loop’ just check the op. The poster has done a good job of organizing things.

And just to clarify I dont think that any of Storms loops are corner specific, they should all be possible midscreen. Someone can clarify if im wrong.

and check this link to some Storm combos on youtube. Look up Storm MVC3 and Swag Loop on youtube if you dont see it right away.
But if you take 10min to watch these combo videos im sure you will find what your looking for.
IMO the swag loop and most of the other longer loops she has are not worth the trouble.
They look awesome, but your only gonna net about an extra 40-60k from all that work, compared to a simpler combo.

I stick to:
cr:m:cr:h: jc:uf:j:m:j:m:j:h: land :m:cr:h: jc:uf: j:h: adf j:h: land :m:cr:h::s: ^ j:m:j:h:j:s: land OTG Hyper

its only 15k less than the very execution heavy loops

Your never really gonna get more than about 500k from one of Storms combos until you start working of some DHC combos.

Any combos that build a meter I need her to be more viable on point and the combo’s I do build just under a meter which is pretty annoying

if youre looking for a combo that builds like 1 meter, here’s what i found out in the lab today:

Instant Float xx j:s: :m:cr:h: jc j:h:j:s:xx adf xx j:m:j:h: land :m:cr:h: jc j:h:j:s: xx adf xx j:h: land :m::s: ^
j:m:j:h:j:s: land, Hail Storm
Damage: 599,800 (almost 600k, almost!)
Damage w/ Elemental Rage instead of Hailstorm: ~579,000.
Meter build before use of Hyper: 1.1

This combo works midscreen and in the corner, but be aware that it only works on characters where cr:h: jc j:h: does connect (as they are standing on the ground). That means it works just beautifully on hulk, sentinel etc. whereas it can be quite difficult to get that jumpcancel j.H right on magneto (i guess thats just a matter of practice). Unfortunately this also means that it won’t work on characters like wolverine or arthur. But you still want your combo that builds you at least one meter, right? Okay, so we just change things up a little:

Instant Float xx j:s: :m:cr:h: jc j:m:j:m:j:h: land :m:cr:h: jc j:h:j:s: xx adf xx j:h: land :m:cr:h::s: ^ j:m:j:h:j:s: land, Hail Storm
Damage: 578,000
Meter build before use of Hyper: 1.1

Andy OCR does this :h: loop in the first two games. Should we get notation for it on the first thread? looks pretty simple.

for your jump cancels after cr:h: you will have to use your discretion weither to jc :u: or :uf: and add or addf depending on where you are relative to your opp.
Storms :h:s dont push her back very far at all so in the corner jc:u: add

Il make sure to try this out when I get back from the weekly ranbats if this works out good enough I might just end up being the uk’s best storm player :smiley:

And honestly, I dunno if you all should focus so much on DHC glitch combos…we still dunno whether or not if Capcom will patch it or not…But I guess for now it’s nice to put them in here.

I changed that Hori storm loop above about three times but im satisfied that its correct now.

I think you should make a note on the Storm/Taskmaster DHC Glitch combo.
Im getting alot of msgs and questions about how to get into it.
you should make a note letting ppl know that they have to air juggle their opp into E.Rage for proper height.

you should also add the 4 characters that will not work for the STORM/SENT DHC glitch.
Ammy and 3 others ill have to look for it.
but remember you can do the combo but the opp must be juggle into the E.Rage just like with Storm/Task

Okay, I’ll add that. Sorry though, an update here generally takes me an 30min to and hour, and I just don’t have time to do it tonight. I promise it Sunday afternoon/night!

EDIT: Also, next weekend I’m going to revamp the combo thread, prioritizing DHC combos by character, then authors of combos.

I need to learn some of these combos. I don’t particularly do b&b ordeals like those triangle jump combos people do, I try to keep it simple since I don’t have much experience with storm.

So far I always do something like down lp, down mp, down hp, SPATK, air mp, air mp, air hp, double jump up/forward, repeat air mp/mp into options to either lighting storm or ground bounce into hailstorm. I like her tri jump attacks so that’s why I’ll be working to see if I can get loops outta them because that would be great for my game. I’m not a huge fan of lighting attack/storm combos because if miss I teem to get punished a lot.

LA combos are so MVC2, jk
But really there are very few situation where its advantageous to do a LA combo over simply getting a hard knockdown and going for a Hail Storm or a E.Rage to DHC.
One situation that LAs work in is…
Air Throw, Air:l:Double Typhoon, :uf:LAx3 xx Lightning Storm
Im sure your well aware of the many advantages to ERage, punishment on block, punishment on reaction, OTGs from anywhere, pulls you in right next to you opp so its great for DHCs, and of course the reset glitch.

I think the easiest way to extend Storms combos is to do either:
cr:h: jc j:m:j:m:j:h: land :m:cr:h::s: ^ (this version is super easy, but will create more scaling)
or
cr:h: jc :df::atk::s: land :m:cr:h::s: ^ (overall higher damage after your Hyper, but alittle harder to time properly online)

Ive also been using OTG assist to extend my Storm combos, since meter is so tuff to earn with her.
