Twitter doesn’t need an app, old days you just send a txt message
They have their priorities and they’re with dealing with the problems that are the most visible to a large amount of people before those that are less visible. Is it kinda fucked up that arguably minor infractions from famous people would get handled much sooner than actual criminal behaviour in some godforsaken place that only 5 people know about? You could definitely make the argument, but corporations like Twitter aren’t about dealing with problems ethically, they’re about saving money while also giving the impression that they’re ethical.
And honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if similar stuff happens on Facebook and Youtube too. Social media has become big to the point that if you can imagine that some people are doing shady shit in the shadows they probably are.
Chances are that no human is even reading the stuff that’s being reported and it’s all left to bots. And I wouldn’t be so sure about special exceptions because I wouldn’t want an algorithm to start banning half of the anime stuff on Twitter because soccer moms and retards think anime girls and the Sorceress from Dragon’s Crown have “children’s faces”.
Florida: the flabby penis of America, appropriately filled with dickheads.
I’m not saying I disagree but if that’s what it truly is in this case, then fucking hell…
That’s fine and good, but the point of having moderation in place is so issues get resolved within the platform. If someone has to go to a third party to report something that the platform’s moderation should be taking care of when alerted to it, then that means the platform’s moderation doesnt’ work and that twitter is exactly what they claimed Parler was, maybe worse in this case.
This has apparently been a thing for awhile according to that comedian I was listening to, it’s just that as you have more people using the platform, more about it is discovered, and once Trump started using it, a LOT more people got on it. I definitely notice a difference now than when I started using it in 2012 or so.
Well, like I said, they seem to make a big to-do about banning Trumpers, qanon people, and other wrongthink types, and maybe my priorities are fucked up, but I think child porn is much much worse than any of those things they claim are priorities. So I guess.
I remember the twitter people talking about the trouble in using bots and algorithms.
Can’t be too strict because it auto-bans too many conservatives
Parler didn’t need it either. But it is a big hit to your image when they remove your app from storefronts.
Sucks to be on the Y’All Queada and Coup Cuck Klan team for the next couple of years, competent experienced leadership back at the helm and aside from COVID, your domestic threat #1!
lol
Anyway, democrats are the terrorists that will bring America to ruin.
Just wait till they start putting Republicans in front of a firing squad!
Conservatives started getting banned on social media many years ago, we’re talking before 2016.
And because western societies at large are against freedom of expression particularly when it comes to controversial opinions, the social media companies will follow the new societal trends. The majority of the population are not for free speech, thats just a fact.

Wait…so the $15/hr wage is only for federal jobs?
Props to this dude!!
He has some sense and not full tilt MAGA, Emperor President Trump anointed in tears of Republican Christ Jesus Almighty, and he reasonably, accepted the outcome, plus gave Joe due to his experience.
I pray this man wasn’t in the Capitol.
There’s was zero chance 15$ minimum would encompass all working jobs.
Actually parler does need the Apple store for app distribution for iPhone customers
and Boogaloo Brothers are too stupid to run android devices in dev mode.
Twitter ran for years before having an official app
Plus the raise of min wage for service/tip employees is sorta a double edged sword
Be the right waiter or bartender in the right local, you pull more cash a night than most people do weekly
Western societies are against freedom of expression?
How are they faring elsewhere?
There’s a bunch of countries in Central and South America who score higher on the freedom of speech index, you can look at the studies online done by the Frazer Institute and other organizations. You can find certain countries in East Asia also.
When i’m not on damn mobile I will elaborate more.
I’d argue that Southern and Central America are definitely Western countries, both culturally in how governments are structured for the most part, while certain East Asian countries (Japan, South Korea, Taiwan) while definitely not Western culturally are politically very influenced by Western standards of governing.
With “non-Western” I’m thinking more Former-USSR, the Middle East, China, India and Africa.
Sounds about right.
The point is we have drastically less freedom of expression compared to the 90s for exemple, I was only a kid but the atmosphere was much different. Thats in every western countries.
As time advance we should have more freedom not less. We’re regressing we’re not advancing.
