This doesn’t surprise me given what I’ve heard about the NRA recently, which is that the people who historically would support it have turned on it for two reasons: first that LaPierre guy apparently spends quite a bit of NRA money on fancy suits and other vanity items for himself, which has not gone unnoticed by NRA members. Second is that these days the NRA is not uh, as extreme as people would like? The NRA lobbyists make a lot of compromises with politicians passing gun control laws and gun advocates feel there shouldn’t be any concessions…
The fervent desire to protect personal firearms remains, but it’s outgrown the NRA is what I’m trying to say. Just another right wing grift that’s been exposed and done away with, but what will take its place…?
