Well GG:AC is on PS2 anyway right now, so it’s not that big of a deal to have it in the arcade. Melty Blood and Arcana Heart are 2 MUST have games in that arcade for sure. Although JAP sticks SUCK for marvel, they’re not too bad for those 2 games. Personally I HATE JAP sticks, but once again it’s only for marvel because of the type of game marvel is. But yea… go with the JAP sticks and those 2 games.

Also, University Pinball, is it possible for you to put Rumble Fish 2 back in the arcade? That game was a fun game…

Actually before UP took out RF2, NGBC, and XI, these people are who I’d see a good three times a week throwing in a good $30 everytime they came. Also, if this adds to anything, these are the same people who I go up to CF every couple of days to play arcana, and we throw in at least $50 EACH on that system alone in one day(we paid off two board by ourselves in a little more than a month).

And if you still don’t feel like these people are dedicated, the melty players have been known to go up to TGA every couple of weeks(9 1/2 hour trip) just to play their beloved game on a cab. Now if we got melty, they’d only need to travel an hour, which would mean they’d be here s LOT putting money in the machines trying to support the cab. Yeah they live far away, but I know them IRL and can tell you that these are dedicated people. Just because you don’t live in Philly doesn’t mean you can’t go to their arcade(if that logic were followed, then CF would have never catered to out whims).

And if you haven’t gotten it, the point of us asking for these things is to get more people INTO UP, not to keep the current customers coming(which UP has already said that the current customers won’t be enough to run UP). We ain’t hatin’ on Marvel, so why you tryin’ to hate on us.

Request some stuff, I mean that was one of my main goals when starting this topic, go get more games in and overall get more people interested. You might like Marvel & 3s, but I’m sure theres something else you’d like to play in the arcade every so often.

you don’t understand, i’ve been there when we got XX and i’ve been there when we got RF2 and I was there when we got KOFXI and that other gay SNK game with marco and shit in it. (nbc or something) and even tho these are games that were campaigned for, they still didn’t get a lot of action. first couple weeks yeah, but then nobody played that shit.

put back in alpha and rival schools.

but none of those games had real followings (XX in those days, RF2 is a game nobody really adheres to or really knows about) the only question i had is why they take out KOFXI… for dun dun dun SVC choas cuse…i hope they don’t go out there thinking SVC sells right? and they had Tenka in for the longest time… and the only time i see that game getting played is people who were into storylines and scrubs… Cvs2 gets barely any play everytime i go up there ( although i wouldn’t mind playing it) SC2 is too old and SC3AE is still in there and i don’t why that hasn’t been taken out ( cuse it certainly ain’t selling) im just saying MBAC and AH on the EC has some deep followings… and UP you could tap into that… i rather spend my money at UP for AH then CTF (based on sheer time of the trip and money ) and MBAC will be good as gold in philly cuse… NYC has no MBACvb2 cab (for reasons i think are biased) so you lookin at a good 4-5 players coming down from NY/Nj because of MBACvb2…

there are some fg’s that sell (mvc2) some that don’t (svc, SC3AE,) so all im saying put the ones that YOU know will sell well (like MBAC or GGAC) and plus it UP need some new polish games in there…and yes i wish i knew about RF2… cuse i would’ve put money into it :frowning:

KoF XI doesn’t have a following in NY / NJ, almost no SNK game does, unless you’re a FOB at CF.

Rumble Fish 2 had a following, but that ultimately fell through thanks to legal matters between Sammy and Dimpy, which left us with no PS2 port.

XX had a following, but people went to the Break for tournaments in that game intsead (at the time, hell I was one of them). That filtered itself into local tournaments and gatherings that still go on to this day.

MBAC has had a community in NY / NJ for the past half a damn decade. I pleaded with the owner of CF to get the game because it would have completely been in his best interest to do so, but that fell through because he bought NGBC instead. Myself and two other members of the community take a good 10 hour trip (due to its location) to TGA everytime they hold a ranbat just to play MB. And it’s only three of us because that’s all that’ll fit into the damned car with those souls gracious enough to help us for housing. I’ve personally gone as far as VA for MB, and even went to Long Island this past weekend. So if word got out that there was a cabinet that was a little over an hour away from NJ / NY you bet your damn ass we would show up. This ain’t some bullshit either, we’ll show you what the game is all about.

I mean why do people from Philly come up to CF? For Arcana Heart, so it’d be right to only do the same if you got in MB.

As for AH, I don’t give a damn for it either way ;p.

hey i be all about some alpha2 or 3 and keep in mind… i used to go to UP alot for tekken…just because i don’t play marvel dosen’t mean i don’t go to UP… i still do… but it’s two jobs that really wanes on my chances …cuse i do like the arcade settings, that (philly tekken players don’t go to UP anymore… cheapskates…)

but chibi SVC choas over KOFXI that’s a no brainer…

So what’s the status of AC? What controls is it gonna be on not that I care either way. I haven’t been to UP since that time Eric had that KoFXI (free tourney whic not suprisingly he won). So I didn’t know 3s was back in there. How much comp comes through there for cvs and 3s? If it’s consitent enough then what hell I’ll come back but if both are dead then I’ll just wait for AC. One more thing do the MAME machine have ST and/or A3? IF that happens then I don’t dropping the $75 buck across those 4 games like I used to 3 years ago when it was the shit

Okay UP, heres your list:

As far as sticks go, you’ll want to get the SANWA JLF-TP-8YT. The buttons will be called OBSN-30, although you’ll want to ask the seller for dimensions and things. You might have to make adjustments to the cab depending on what he says, but I’m sure it’s nothing big. Theres a couple arcades that use the same cabs as you and they’ve gotten Japanese parts into it.

As far as who you want to order from? I’d say give http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=116457 an e-mail. They order fast and they’re pretty cheap too. Depending on when they say they’ll get the sticks to you, you may or may not want to fall back on http://www.lizardlickamusements.com/ . Their prices are a little steeper, but they sell good parts and deliver fast.

As far as RF2 goes, we usually check www.coinopexpress.com for estimates in prices for things, some things you can get cheap, and others are way expensive. I’m not sure if they’re the best place to buy from, but they’ll give you a good idea of what should cost what.

If you’re looking to get some new games in there, then you could look at some of the following on coinop. They’re inexpensive, and are good alternatives in case you want to mix it up every so often.

Street Fighter: Alpha 3
Vampire Savior(1, not 2)
Marvel vs. Capcom(You had this in at one point, but I have no clue what you did with it)
Warzard
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure

They’re all capcom fighters, and they’re considerably cheap. But before you go off considering these, please know that we want Melty blood oh so much more. Also, that site doesn’t have Melty blood ver.b2, so don’t bother trying to buy off of that site. Thanks for supporting the community, and thanks for being such a great arcade. We want you back like it was in the good old days, when the games were good and the people were even better.
