Hey, as far as marvel is concerned, you should really start checking up on the marvel cabinet sticks because quite frankly… They’re not 100% everytime we play on them. They get broken very often and it’s hard to spend your money playing a game that has messed up sticks. There are times where the 1st player side will control the 2nd player. Certain buttons won’t work, the buttons can actually lift up out of the socket to the point where u can almost see the wires, and many other little issues at certain times. Especially with the sticks themselves. So yea, you should really have like a weekend check up each weekend on the sticks because there are times where people just go home and not spend any money due to broken sticks.
Just a heads up because it’s been going on for quite some time now.
Oh, and can you post when you get arcana heart in the arcade? Me and my friend will go down there to play.
i will go today and have a chat with the guy about getting them fixed. if you guys dont say anyting about broken sticks, how do you expect them to fix them. when something is wrong tell the workers or email me at arcade4006@aol.com. the problem will be fixed today. thanks guys for the info!!!
Good stuff, the marvel machines are being maintained. I don’t play the game but we’ve gotta look out for the arcade as a whole, we all play there at the end of the day.
What I wanna know is if Eric is gonna step it up and get into Arcana heart/Melty blood. Hes always whupping me in XI, but I’d liek to see his face when he finds out I play these two games.

For those that actually go in there, they moved 3s down by the entrance so please give it some love. Was in there yesterday Wed 8/1 and nothing new. I heard they’ll be having a tourny soon but the only game I heard listed was MVC2, with more support maybe they’ll toss 3s and DR in too (not that I play either)
Well, I’m not too sure about the cabs being fixed, but I’m a friend of the guy who owned the Arcana board and he did in fact send the board to UP, as he received the money order in the mail.
Just a minor request, but can Arcana be put in one of the bigger cabs? Like the one that SvC is in right now would be perfect. If it means putting XI in one of the smaller cabs like what CvS2 is in right now, that would be fine.
Well I know 3S is on kaillera now and SRK mainly plays online there. There’s almost no reason to play it in the arcade anymore.
University Pinball, Idk who you are either, but I’ll assume you actually will take my advice and do a weekend checkup on the sticks and what not. But the one thing that is missing to complete the circle is… TOURNAMENTS! Like weekly tournaments would so ROCK! Like if you did them in Melty Blood, Arcana Heart, and Marvel vs Capcom 2. Idk maybe add like a lil $30 bonus to the pot of each game if the tournament in that specific game gets a certain amount of people. It’s something else to attract the fighting game community to the arcade, which will also bring in more money for the business also. Like do Mvc2 one week, Arcana Heart the next week and so on… Oh and post them in the tournament events section of shoryuken.com This worked in the past and I don’t see why it couldn’t work now. It’ll keep people interested and keep coming back for more! Like… Who will be the winner consistently or will it change hands etc etc. It’s exciting.

Demon Hyo is right. There are about 20 people in the area that would already come down for arcana, not to mention the US champ lives in NYC. If a tourney was held every two weeks or so, you’d get a big turnout everytime and the players will get others interested in competing in the game. The melty blood peopel are majorly dedicated to attending tournaments for their game, so it’s not even a question if you’d get people to come out for it.
Everyone loves tournaments, and having them is one of the reasons why I liked UP so much. Going to an XI tourney and seeing things I’ve never seen before is real fun, and I was sad to see it go. Also, by doing the tournaments again you’ll get regulars to start coming back. Win/win situation.

shit once i get this new job… i might throw in some bonus if you guys want… for like arcana or melty …( and prolly MVC2… i don’t play it but i love watching it!!!:wgrin:) so yeah man… i would be down for weekly tourneys there… make it happen…
Awesome. Yea that would truly get people to come to the tournies. Just make sure you would post on srk ahead of time so people can have time to plan and come. The owner should mainly add the money, but yea you feel me.
People would come even without the bonus, but with it madddd heads will be showing up to get that tourney play in. So if they start holding tourneys I’d like to see:
MvC2
Melty Blood
Arcana
KoFXI
CvS2(if we get enough people interested)
If we eliminate CvS2 then there could be a tourney for each game every month like Demon Hyo said, so it’d be spaced out allowing people to free their schedules for a certain day.

You’d get the random person every once in a blue moon that will rock you in CvS2, but most people I know who play aren’t too serious in it. I think you could catch like 4 people who play, but don’t know about RC and stuff like that. Eric can easily beat any of us, it’s so stupid.
the reason we havent done any tournys in up is because we need someone to run them!! anyone willing to run a tourny give me a shout!!
