just buy the game on Steam ffs, we get that you hate EGS (as does the vast majority of gamers on PC).

Skip RDR2 for the PC.
Damn!!
Here I am dealing with fixing random stuttering and pausing issues, but still able to consistently launch the game. *(Granted I had to do some tweaks, as a process used to fix the random stuttering and pausing, causing the game close to desktop)
And here is this dude with 3 custom built machines which could possible run circles around mines, unable to run the game!!!
And worst is when the mother board makers are trying to unfuck Rockstar’s Shit.
And you heard Jay, they had a year and could not do it right, this is Rockstar’s L.
PC Mustard Race!!!
It is More that Rockstar can’t get shit running after a year, didn’t test shit.
Hardware manufacturers are now trying to fix shit on their end, which almost never happens.
In the past at the most graphic card makers makes presets for each game if they are able to do so.
CPU, Mobo and Bios manufacturers getting into the mix is not typical.
Most of the problems are with the shit Rockstar Launcher, probilly some major DRM nonsense causing the game crashes and system errors.
The Console equivelance of this bull shit is Anthem, and Anthem was bricking Consoles.
Yea, game launches just fine on my “Peasant” console.
PC Mustard Race.
I’m mainly just being an ass. I just think it’s funny when PC guys talk about how easy PC gaming is and yet almost every major release is plagued with problems on PC at launch. Shits super fucking funny to me, that’s all.
Ended up using the Project Lasso and later the BES method mentioned here:
The BES method ended up being the current #1 fix for me, but alot of people have had alot success with either option.
Video on how to use BES:
Like in Tekken, Korean Tech showing the West the way its done!!
It comes with pros and cons, like anything else. But yeah, much of the “PC gaming community”, or at least the part that sticks out like a sore thumb in comments sections and forums everywhere, is fucking obnoxious- generally even worse than gamers at large in the same sort of groups. Some of these people make Po look reasonable. Regardless, I’m personally glad I made the switch for several reasons- busted ports notwithstanding.
Yea I game on my PC (older less powerful stuff) for a lot of the benefits it offers, and I have a fun time with it. I just get a sort of schaudenfraud from elitism getting kicked in nuts hehe.
Truth of the matter is Rockstar fucked up with their weird Autolauncher and DRM scheme.
BES sounds like a terrible idea.
The obvious solution to fix RDR2 is to Download and Install The Outer Worlds instead
Man I hope when Iceborne launches on PC it won’t be as disastrous as this!!
Though this also lets me know that its time to start either upgrading my current PC or build another!!
I’m eyeing a major upgrade next year at some point. Replacing motherboard/ram/GPU to the tune of about $1200.
New patch for RDR2 is out this morning. 22gb.

There’s a microcenter near me. I think I’m gonna pull the trigger on this. You also get $30 off a compatible Mobo, plus ram and total is gonna be around $230.
R* just released a new 2 GB patch for Red Dead 2:
Rockstar and numerous users online claim that Project Lasso or BES do not have to be used anymore as workarounds, however I will test this out later tonight to see for myself.
Grabbed it this morning remotely. Will try playing some more tomorrow if my mood is better.
My Brother in law tried to get a refund for RDR2, and the refund part of Rockstar’s own site is borked.
Too much effort goes into PC DRM than what it actually delivers. Honestly the only time I have downloaded a game illegally is
- years ago as a kid off lime wire and was broke
- never had any intention to buy the game and I want a ‘demo’
- the DRM damages performance, such is the case in many ubisoft games
On another note I’m whilst not DRM in not a fan of Easy anticheat… If I’m running any software that is based around cpu Z (Ique) then it detects it as cheating software, so that’s my cooling running stock
the only DRM I’ve had any kind of trouble with recently was the new souped-up Denuvo version that Borderlands 3 uses. Gearbox heard those calls really quickly, not only from me; but from others as well.
